I met the RL Oracle last night. Seriously!

So I had a bad day yesterday.  I had to take the bus to the court to deal with this stupid ticket I got that is just dragging on way longer than it should.  Things didn’t go the way I liked so I was in a very bad mood.  I was at the bus stop and it was really cold and there were two people there on the covered bench thing…an older black lady and a young kinda tough looking guy.  Not having a schedule I asked them if the bus was due to come soon.  The younger guy was closest to the schedule posted on the wall so he checked for me and checked his cell and told me 5 minutes.  I thanked him, then walked over to the side outside the bench area.

Next thing I know the older lady walks up to me smiling, and wordlessly offers me a cookie!  Now generally I don’t take food from strangers but this little old lady had the kindest eyes and the warmest smile, so I took it.  And you know what?  I ate it, and it was great!  Chocolate chip.  I thanked her, and she said something like “Its very cold tonight!”  Smiling the whole time.  She didn’t look exactly like the Oracle but was about the same age, the same ethnicity, same benevolent look but skinnier.  Then the bus came, I thanked her again as she was taking a later bus, and after I sat down and finished my cookie, it struck me….OMG I just met the Oracle in RL!  Which picked up my mood, her little gesture of unconditional kindness.

So, just thought that was pretty cool.  (Hmm does that mean I am the 0n3??11)

It was poisoned, you will die in 7 days.

that is a pretty awesome story!  The cookie cheered you up, which is exactly what the oracle cookies are supposed to do. Very cool man.

I had something similar happen at the store where I work, though perhaps not as randomly generated. Especially on weekends, we have vendors giving out free samples of new products. We had a new line of all natural cookies and chips coming in, so we had a woman come in to hand out the samples... and danged if she didn't look like Mary Alice as the Oracle. I was out putting away overstock and she offered me one of their chocolate chip cookies. I had to turn her down since I was on the clock and we're not supposed to eat while we're punched in. ...So then she asks me with a little bit of a teasing lilt, "Watching your waistline?" the way the Oracle does in that cinematic at the end of the tutorial. I almost jumped out of my skin when she said that.

Just goes to show that the little things in life can make a huge difference. That's an awesome story though.

its nice to know theres still good people out there, and not filled with idiots. Just goes to show how the littlest things can turn someones day around
