I was looking through some of the new content, the lvl 50 male shinobi gear at the mara vendors and noticed something strange. Now, I am thinking that shinobi gear should be for MKT/Assassin type builds or geared more towards it a bit, so why is it that they give a Melee accuracy bonus of 3% instead of lets say Thrown accuracy or thrown damage bonus?
I either lost my mind and we are under a CR3.0 or someone screwed up with putting buffs on these clothes. At any rate, what do you guys think?
Well according to what a Shinobi actually is, you would be correct in a sense. They where masters of stealth, but they where also masters of ninjutsu. Which is a martial art. By that ideology they should have both Melee and thrown bonus'.
Although i'll assume since the current combat system... well... Discourages a combination of the two by players due to the attribute layout (although achievable), He (rarebit) suggested given the number of new thrown stated clothing and outcry for martial arts stuff... THe melee bonus' where applied. (:
Yeah, I just recently picked myself up a set of the ninja gear purely for the visual aspect, but am left confused now that I see the buff set. The defenses are odd too, particularly given the impression it's supposed to be melee based gear.
I suppose you could say the Elite Commando stuff kind of took over what the ninja gear maybe should have been buff wise, and we did need MA specific gear so when the ninja enemies were conceived I guess it made sense. Granted I'm no expert on the combat side of things, but the buff set for the ninja gear seems poorly thought out.
probably to give ma's a better chance in pvp. mkts really own pvp from what i can see. i don't participate much, but from reading forums and following the mkt balance drama, this may be a way to balance it out.
Yeah MA's really needed some farmed gear. MKT already got a full outfit a year ago.
The Ninja Gloves are really good. The GI is more just for dueling rather than PvP. Can only really use it in PvP if its MA's and MKT's your against but i have managed to outroll gunners with it (just a pity with the lack of res.)
