Well if Neo says that Neo is dead, then Neo is dead...

Heres your suicide booth EPN, let the mass suicides begin!
What else does he say in the interview?

Uh, yeah ... It's in the Revolutions script book (which I got with the scripts for the other two movies when I bought the standard definition Ultimate Matrix Collection).
------------------------------------------------------------------------
769 INT. MACHINE CITY TOWER - NIGHT 769
A final surge rushes through Neo, his body convulsing against his metal coils and we see the light drain out of him, as life slowly leaves him and his body falls quiet and still.
Neo dies.

Frankly, I thought it was clear that he was dead with the whole funeral-like tone of the scene showing his body being dragged away by the Machines. And you don't play that kind of music for the unconscious/tired hero.

Tired Hero is dead tired.

Frankly it would have been a p*** poor ending if the guy ended up surviving.
It definitely ties in with the whole "full circle/savior/martyr" theme if the main character dies in the end.
Of course that doesn't leave out Reincarnation. :o

Or at the very least there may be something of Neo in the Matrix and/or the Machine City.
Duckker! Guárdame una copia de ese periódico.
Reeves once said in an interview that the first film was about birth, the second was about life, and the third was about death. It's also been stated by Reeves, Silver, and the Wachowskis that "Neo's story is finished". And as mentioned, the script states plainly that Neo dies (two days before Revolutions opened, I foolishly let someone at Warner spoil this for me).
Nothing in this game trumps the above.
I always thought Neo was dead, but the idea of the one, the anomaly, the remainder of the equation could still be utilised. There were 'ones' before Neo, I doubt it was the same man re-incarnated. So if the system were put to the point where the cycle was reinstated for some reason, there could still be a 'one' but possibly quite a different version.
I can't (and don't want to) see 'Neo' coming back, but another 'one'... that possibility, no matter how small, still exists.

Neo's dead. Even if the script isn't good enough for you, in PON, the little Wachovski interlude before you fight mega-smith they point out "the whole martyr thing." You can't be a martyr and still be alive.
That being said, the question becomes are those being awakened enough to balance out the equation? If not, then perhaps we'll see another 'one' come around. Though I doubt any/many operatives will be alive to witness it. More than likely there won't be another occurence of the one until Zion/New Zion has been destroyed and the cycle restarted.

Agreed. At release we thought that we'd see that within this game's lifetime (Sarah Edmontons) but it seems like our only connection is a friend of a friend's roomate's cousin, twice removed, of the milkman who delivered to her neighbor.
>.<
But my fingers are cross that the BIP sage evolves to clear up some of the mysteries of the One (Not necessarily Neo/Trinity).

Yes... I know... thats why I said I always thought he was dead and that was even before I completed PoN and read the script, it just made more sense. I didn't say and wasn't trying to say that he may still be alive and/or come back at any point in my post.

We know he's dead we just want his body the machines have stated it wasnt recycled so we want it.
Ive never relaly thought Neo was truly dead but meh.. I dunno hehe. Id love to see another "one" though, like Vinia said. That'd be cool
/cry

Wasn't directed at you, just a general statement. I should have been more clear.

I must admit i've been a bit quick to bite at stuff recently without taking in the context. Don't worry about it.

Damm! Too slow...
There is another "One" I forget her name though, in one of the sentinals it stated some woman woke up at a hospital with amnesia, and just walked out of the hospital. I dont even know if it was ever mentioned again but it sounded like a story arc that never really got devolped.
Sarah Edmonton I think it was.
Sarah Edmontons... the s on the end is neccessary to make it anagram to Thomas Anderson. I saw it in one of those seemingly throw away little files, recordings, etc. you sometimes get from Critical or archived missions. I can't remember the full text off-hand. But it basically implied that a woman suddenly woke from a coma, and walked out of a hospital and dissapeared. The nore said that in the margin, someone had scrawled "Is this him?" I have heard it supposedly happened on the day Neo died, after the simulation reset, but haven't actually seen that validated. There was at least one LE that involved searching for her. There was also a player run RP where an Operative was pretending to be her, that got resolved within the last few months.
Other than that, yes this seems to be a nearly abandoned story thread.
