Now, I might be the only one, but I really like the scripted bullet time camera, my only problem with it is that it allways seems to be zoomed in a little too close to the action. Is there a way to change this in useropts or through some other means, just so I can see the action a little better?

You are not the only one!  I've been curious about the exact same thing.  Would be great if we could back the camera out just a little. SMILEY

Turning the camera off should help

AllowBulletTimeCamera = 0

Yeah, but I like the scripted shot, it just needs to be a bit wider, to get more of the action. I still want to have the camera move with the attack as it pulls into bullet time.

I think the reason for some scripts being close is that Rare wanted to show the reaction of the characters in IL (Think Neo ultra slow-mo punching Smith in the rain). But yeah there are some cool moves that aren't seen in their full glory and would look better (and capture much better in screenshots) if the camera pulled out a little more.

O_O Since when did Rarebit do the bullet time animations? (I know he tweaked them at one time or another but heck he didnt make them... as far as I am aware.)

I didn't say he made them, although it could be read that way, I could have written it a bit better.

He did tweak them so that the action slowed at the point he thought would have the most impact for the viewer. I'm sure the software he uses would allow a change in camera distance though.

I'm sure a lot of things would be easy to do if Rarebit simply took some time to look into it, unfortunately we just get re-coloured/textured/alternate clothes/items.

You know my thoughts on how things are goign odj, but he's still just 1 guy. as for volunteering/internship don't blame him, blame SoE

Yeah I hate that Rarebit spends his whole day playing solitaire and flicking around paper footballs with Dracomet.  GAWD!

Really was no need to turn the thread into a Rare bash, keep it to the other threads. This is the first time I've seen anyone post something about the camera being a little close into combat and even if Rare could tweak the distance a bit I doubt it'd be very high on his job list, especially as it would mean identifying all the moves which would look a bit better from a distance then tweak the distance etc..

Indeed, operative.

If you turn off the Scripted Bullet Time Camera (in Options on \ Key, Game tab) doesn't it still play the Bullet Time Animations but also allow you to control the camera movement at the same time?  Seems like it would be good for making movies or just seeing those cool Bullet Time animations from other than the scripted angles.

#36300526403 12/05/2008 14:48:17 Re:Scripted Bullet time Camera

I don't think Rarebit's going to go down the "tweak the bullet-time animations" road any time soon.

Do you seriously think Rarebit's going to make a minor adjustment the Scripted Bullet Time Camera so it pans out further because a few people would prefer it better that way?

I think there's precedent for such things...

Sure why not, seems just as logical as many other choices made recently. SMILEY

I think he could, I mean its not a huge adjustment just a little further tweaking slowmo is good on most moves on my opinion but it does zoom in a bit to much on some.

Its something small and hopefully not massively time consuming.

Depends if it needs to be done to all 10000 animations... :/

wouldn't it only be done to special IL moves and finishing moves since those are what starts a bullet time?

So that would only be 7 different styles of fighting (awakened being the same as spy and hacker)

and then however many MA and guns and sneak abilities along with things like cheep shot head butt and low blow that are outside of operative (i dont think theres any physical hacker ab)

Therefore I doubt its 10,000.

There are scripted bullet time camera movements for every single IL move. Not just special moves.

Sorry I brought it up.
