Time for a new Ask Virrago thread for the Newsletter.

Post your questions here and I will pick through and find some funny and serious ones to include and answer.

In the current economic crisis, I'm sure it becomes harder and harder to work with a budget with the Matrix Online...  if you had to choose between losing a developer or having 9mmfu power the office with a treadmill, what color socks would you wear?

White Hole - Red Dwarf FTW

Virrago, without your love of zombies causing bias, do you think that Hot Fuzz was funnier or lesss funny than Shaun of the Dead?

[Both are secondary when compared to Spaced, IMO. He should at least be offered Spaced as a third alternative... It also has a Matrix reference!]

"Do you want anything from the shop?"

As a game developer, I have access to a small group of voice actors, and I know that many fans would be willing to submit voice-acting as well for key parts of existing content. May we have a contest or a competition to submit voice content for existing missions around our cities, to give them more immersion weight now that we have fewer story LEs?

I was asked to ask something, so, there you have it.

There are key characters in the game that affect BIG things: Mercury, Dame White, Kalt, etc.

Might be nice to hear them.

Also: how about voices when you open pandora's box? Wouldn't that double the effect to have a bunch of archangels calling out scripture, damnation, or rapture? Better yet, even code equations?

Hell, giving the Archaeologist a voice similar to Harrison Ford or Sean Connery would win this game forever.

Very true, Spaced is great but I was thinking about feature films. Although it offers up a new question...

Virrago, have you seen Spaced which features your favourite zombie killing duo?

What a SMASHING idea.

I would soooo love to see this. Maybe even submit some voice work myself. To be used only at the discretion of the devs, but still .. that would be so fun!

What are the odds that you will release a stretchy sati RSI capture, or even a disguise for next year?
#36300522641 11/22/2008 10:39:39 Re:Ask Virrago

Virrago,

Do a lot of people know that you only work on the forums and not the game itself?

#36300522654 11/22/2008 12:21:42 Re:Ask Virrago

Hello Virrago,

Are you in contact enough with the devs of the game to pass along popular ideas? SMILEY

I always assumed so, and that the devs tend to read highlights SMILEY

Hey Virrago,

If the world ends, who are you voting with?

#36300522673 11/22/2008 13:52:21 Re:Ask Virrago

Something of a two part question, though it could easily be taken as two separate questions I suppose.

What were your impressions of MxO, in particular the player base, prior to your assignment here?  And how does the "reality" of the game and player base compare to what you expected?

Hey, Virrago, what's the goofiest mistake you've made while trying out your nooby admin powers? Have you finally mastered them, or given up altogether?

...also, did you know that unsubscribed players can still post in this part of the forum, at least if they have a special rank? ;P I fear I've said too much. *flee*

Some interesting questions.... some of them I can answer... some of them I wouldn't be able to answer in the newsletter.

For examples of questions that made it into the newsletter, here are links to posts with previous newsletters copied in them: Here and here.
