Unlucky EPN.
*renamed thread by several requests*

Guy with the Knife in the head, sure. Shimada I'll not believe is dead until I hear the proof. Considering where they've been to and then there's the BIP not to mention precident of Wright's survival...
I think it's too early to be celebrating.

Apparently, the guy who was knifed was The Kid. Who now has a scar on his face, so he's not dead.

shouldnt there be *SPOILERS* in the title?
Way to ruin it for those not able to check it out for themselves at this point.

It said RIP Shimada, isn't that enough of a reason to think it has spoilers?
Edit: Also, its not my thread, nothing I can do about it.

Back off, its not my fault you looked.

Im not getting at you... this thread could really be about anything. There could be a number of reasons why someone would put that as a title.
Liking the scarred Kid. Should probably rename him Micheal or something if they're going for the matured look though. lol.
Hopefully the loss of his friend snaps some sense into him and he disbands EPN, merging them back into Zion.
(Don't take that the wrong way and start a flame war EPNs.)
But Tron should change the title to *spoilers* so that the story won't be ruined for folks who haven't seen Rare's flash.

"RIP Shimada *SPOILERS*"?
lol.
Yeah you might want to put Spoiler in the title. Or edited for the first post to say "Warning this is a spoiler"

A cool point thats a little hard to make out in the cinematic is that it wasn't the knife that got that guy in the head but the jack itself. Veil uses the knife to cut its cord. Plus the thing goes dead center in the guy's head, so it's not The Kid (His scar is down the side of his face and likely just from his injuries in the real).
Woo! Go Veil! Too bad she couldn't take out Kiddo too. Or get the program that the Oracle gave her. But... yay! I love the smell of dead EPN in the mornin' ^_^
The Shim is dead!
They were already talking about Michael's new facial features before Shimada was killed (it was her in the cockpit talking to...whoever on the viewer.)
So Veil pulled Shimada's jack and then cut the cord, too? Why? I must not be seeing that cutting motion for what it was...

Because she has a flair for the dramatic?
She cut the cord so she could throw the jack at the guy's head. Didn't want to have to walk over to him to retrieve her knife, I guess.
Oh my, I'm begging for some irony in the future. Have Veil go the same way.

No, Rarebit loves Veil too much. He'd never do that to Veilikins ^_^ If Veil were to die, it would have to be a better death than dieing in her sleep :p

No! We destroyed Old Zion but then EPN rebuilt it... time for us to have a victory that lasts for once! You can have Neo, we get to keep Shimada's death!
(Or we can steal Neo later)
It would be nice to see Veil killed off. But it is unlikely that will ever happen, that would be like Pace getting axed.
Personally, I would like to see her lit on fire.

Ding dong, the witch is dead!
Illyria

This is the point where the Cypherites claim they have spies in every faction, an operative aboard each hovercraft.
Yeah, good one.
But she did say "No. I'll do it." before going to jack in.
Do what?

Maybe moving the information the Oracle gave EPN to another operative.

Well, it was something the guy at the other end of the line thought he could do when he reached broadcast range, even though that was a few days away. So it wasn't urgent, whatever it was. Shimada basically said: 'Nah, it's cool. I'll take care of it.' It was probably something as trivial as reporting the Kid's condition back to the troops. (I use the term lightly.
)

Why would we ask that? People are jacked in all the time. I wouldn't assume she was doing anything nefarious, that it was her scheduled time to be jacked in. Doesn't matter now, though, does it?
When was that last time any orgs leader or controller was just jacked in for kicks and giggles and was not working on something?
Yeah, you're right. I think I take the Merv for granted.

She needn't be in the simulation. A loading construct can be used for many things such as training, gearing up, flirting... perhaps even problem solving (I take it EPN are trying to figure out what the Oracle gave them). A construct can give a person far more resources then a ship, even if they are virtual resources.

Still the question applies especially after the conversation that takes place prior.

Ok, perhaps I was commenting more on the ability to use a construct or similar rather then your intended meaning of what was she doing. My bad.

its all good. Seems like theres alot of overlooking going on with this cinimatic.
<-- thought Veil was the one talking to the screen, not Shimada
Yeah, but thats why I'm so fond of discussing details in them when they're released! So I can learn about anything I missed and possibly add something I believe I saw
aww man, I liked Shimada too well this blows
OWNED
Shimada was nicely designed but as one-dimensional as a Post-it note. No real loss in comparison to other more fleshed out characters, imho. But who knows, maybe a Sim-ada will turn up? XD

Significance is subjective I suppose. Even still, it's time for the Mervs to loose one, imo.

Interesting, Every event with the Machines had Agent Skinner envolved on the Proxy server, never heard a word from Gray until Agent Skinner deleted himself.
