When is Update 65?  I'm guessing Thursday Dec. 11th.

Hmm... looking at it, 6 weeks is the 18th Dec I think, however I think that's a little late to start the winter stuff so perhaps the winter holiday event will go live on the 11th and the update on the 18th? Although, if we're lucky and have been good girls and boys this year they could both go live on the 11th...

The way I counted it up, its around the 11th. Thats the time it was last year, but I guess we'll see.

I could very well be wrong. Thats one thing about the old system of crits, I was always on track of which week we were on!

No word from the Emmexxoh team on anything.  SMILEY

6 weeks from Nov 6th is Dec 11th, this Thursday.  So 12.1.1 should be hitting at the least!  I don't see any reason why it wouldn't.  I also don't see any harm in patching in the Winter Event also.  Per Rare those items are already ready to go, and the holidays are a busy time, so sooner rather than later would be ideal.

#36300527487 12/09/2008 16:24:56 Re:Update 64 Discussion - November 06, 2008

Actually, following our previous patch schedule we'd get Update 65 on the 18th. Next week.

That said, with the lack of a strictly time released storyline and content being created seemingly quite quickly, I don't see why the 6 week schedule can't be laxed a bit. 5, maybe even 4, weeks at a time would be nice.

Then again, you've gotta factor in Cinematic creation time...

That would make the most sense, these events usually last 2 weeks barring any unforseen delays. If it's the case once again, if it started this Thursday it would finish on Christmas day, starting on the 18th would allow it to last to the 1st Jan.

I'm hoping for the chapter update this Thursday and the winter event a week on Thursday so I'm not clogged up with farming chapter goodies and winter goodies.

The sooner the better as far as I'm concerned.. bring on the Winter Holiday now!

I don't think they are meant to be as strict timewise like the Halloween events or the Anniversary events are.   Factoring the Christmas and New Years schedule SOE will be running limited hours anyways.

And whoops!  Indeed 6 weeks is Dec 18th not the 11th.  Time drags when you're not having fun SMILEY

Perhaps. I'm hoping for an announcement about it very soon... Virrago? Anyway it's kind of a hard one to tell because the 25th lands on a Thursday and so does new years day.

epic fail with no winter patch yet.

#36300527864 12/10/2008 14:26:18 Re:Update 64 Discussion - November 06, 2008

Last Winter Holiday patch was released on Dec 13th. And it was only 5 weeks after Update 56.

Update 56: 15th November

Winter Holiday: 13th December

So they might release the Winter Update today and next Thursday Update 65.

Hm, not sure where Walrus and Virrago are at today. The Winter Holiday update is NOT tomorrow--a proper announcement of the actual date should happen soon.

Normally we'd be having a weekly server restart overnight here, not sure that's going to happen.

I kind of feel off topic posting this given the recent discussion but I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in on this new approach.

I like it for the most part. The new quests are fun and have a larger feel than the critical missions which is nice, almost to the point of feeling the PBs. It would be cool if we had some of these that required teamwork/certain loadouts by having computers that needed hacking, locks that need picking, maybe an NPC that needs heals (can that be done) but over all solid missions. The only drawback is probably the level requirements from the point of view of a new player.

In terms of the LEs that might happen with this new approach heres what I propose.

A formula that I think would work is to have the current quest release as is, supplemented by one event per server a week. This would include the org meetings happening a certain week, maybe the fifth?

During the sixth week, a certain area becomes FFAPVP because everyone loves madness. Maybe there could also be a spot on the map that is forced PVP for the whole cycle that ties into the story, changing with each update.

Maybe the last two bits are off but I think the first chunk is nice.

Cinematic. Best one we have ever had. Just needs background music. Thats it. I don't care about not having voiceovers, because getting actors for them is a waste of money when it comes down to it.

Other stuff I want to see?

Something PvP related. Maybe the pvp zone I mentioned above, maybe something else. A lot of people have talked recently about the storyline being something we can no longer influence at all. It would be nice if there was some way we could have PvP and use it to determine control of a zone. Can you log the number of kills in a PvP zone once its established? And even if you could, would you know what org got what kill?

Oh and theres tons of other ideas I've had, but they're in a thread that has long since been buried. Could we have a contest to get a (realistic) player idea made?

I haven't read anything to this effect.. and I've read a lot to make sure..

But with the RSI captures added to the boss's loot table.. has the chance for a key gone down?  I killed a boss 27 times with no RSI capture or key.  I wanted the key more.. but was hoping for both.  I finally got fed up and searched out another 3 chevron gang member and got the key that way.

I know the Capture's are only 10%.. but I thought the key drop % was higher.  Especially from bosses.

I didn't notice any lowering of the drop rate for the keys... Not that I'm particularly into farming keys and captures now, but I happen to kill the Morrel Warriors boss Sonny pretty often now for my PB4 arcs, and I get the RSI capture and the access key more than 1 time out of 10 for both, that's for sure.
