So, the basic premise for this is that during a fictional series of Big Brother, a zombie outbreak occurs, but the house-mates are unaware of the impending doom outside of the Big Brother House.

It's set to be a small episode based series on E4 in the UK, so I'm not sure about US viewers but I'm sure you can grab it on the internet.

Now, what could be a more perfect marriage of genre's? Flesh eating Zombies and brain dead housemates on one of the most annoying but altogether addicting TV shows of the last 10 years. It really looks like it has the potential to be an enjoyable mini-series.

Personally i cannot stand Big Brother.. but i am rather intruiged by this.  The advert looked kinda good for it.

I might well tune into it.

I don't watch it, but the amount of people it's sucked in is unreal.

I think this will be fun to watch for those of us who hate it, we'll probably get to see Housemates ripped apart and those who watch Big Brother as avid fans will probably just be like 'Oi it's like big bruva' or whatever and watch it with intregue.

I think it'll be a big hit.

The only time ive ever liked a big brother-esq program was when that muppet Ricky Gervase(?) who i also cannot stand, ended up on it in some sketch he did.

I lawl'd

Interesting premise for a show.

You just never know if you're RP wife is a psychologically insane IC axe murderer. :/

It's got zombies in it... so I'll watch it.

The show won't be available in the US to watch, it's for E4 only, so here's a link to the first episode

The DVD's are out on Monday to buy.

I'm enjoying it so far, with the climax of the series coming tonight.

Glad I'm not the only one ^^

As I told young Muu, it's like watching either 28 Days or 28 Weeks Later from another perspective.  The 'zombies' are more like 'the infected' from the aforementioned movies, in that they growl rather than moan and can chase rather than stumble after you.

It offers nothing new to the genre, but is entertaining enough for a British-made mini-series.

I give it a not entirely pointless out of ten.

Regular BB watchers are probably miffed that they can't phone in to vote out certain Zombies or something. I'll wait for the DVD to come out if its a decent series. I hate having to watch them on TV because something always prevents me from seeing one or two episodes...

Don't forget - as Muu said - you can watch it for free at E4.com/deadset.  It's up for a month, I think.

Yeah, I guess. I suppose I could watch it and see if it's worth getting the DVD.

#36300516161 10/31/2008 12:50:10 Re:'Dead Set'

Another option if you've missed them is watch the whole thing tomorrow night at 10 on E4, they're showing them all together.

Well, it's over.  Spoilers below:

Everyone dies, good on 'em.  I was pleased with that in a logistical sense, but the finale did suffer from being anti-climactic as a result.  Getting everyone in one place to kill them off compacted the story, and therefore limited it.  I'd like to see an alternate ending, but won't be purchasing the DVD for the possibility of one.

Overall it was somewhat enjoyable, but really didn't set itself apart from anything which has gone before.  It has made me want to watch 28 Days, though.

(Tried to do invisotext and didn't quite make it.)

I'd agree with everything ex said, and that it suffered from being just 20minutes long. If it had been the same hour long as the opening episode, they maybe could have done something more.
