OVER PLS DONT POST a merge- the answer or the end ?

ok, personally id love for a merge of recurresion and syntax, new face new facions new pvp! atm i think mxo is probily at a all time low all servers are low on pop so why not merge the two pve and maybe give vector a transfer if they want it ?

the main problem for me is i log in and theres no one there from morning to evening, dont get me wrong theres a few people running about but in genral theres no one, so i think a merge would be a great thing might even have medium pop on a server then, and it may be like the old days of pvp in mara c loads of people chatting and not the silence we have now (i can only speak for recurresion ofcourse) so in closing what does everyone else think about the idea? i would also love to heard from rarebit on the touble it may cause or problems there would be, ofcourse one of the problems would be the lesigs as there may be far to many or maybe they can team up join ideas and make even better events?

A Server merge is probably a bad idea.  Syntax and Recursion are too different beasts.  True, it would "boost" the server population but only visibly.  The same number of people (or less depending on reaction to merging) would still be subscribed to the game.

The most relevant issue, as always, should be finding more ways to advertise and boost interest in the game.  Instead of just cramming different communities together and hope they will live happily ever after.  There are some people who do a lot but ultimately limitations are set forth by SOE's unwillingness to market the game.

MxO will never die but it will never be "great" like we once imagined it would be.  However, things change.  Who knows what will happen.  Maybe one day we might get lucky.

well tbh unless i see more visable activity theres no point subing, and yes a boost in server population would be good rather than seeing 3 people in 12 hours online:/

Factors to consider when wondering about population numbers; The timezone you are in, the time you generally jack in, what you are doing during that time (hanging out at Camon C/Tabor W or Mara C, farming, Datamine, Sati's etc..), what others are doing at that time, day of the week, any new games just been released.

You could always try creating another character on another server... it's a lot simpler than merging servers.

I would say your biggest issue here is the fact you are logging into a server at the wrong time.

I have played on Syntax mostly in my time in MXO and have logged in at all different times of the day and i never struggle to find friends.  If you are continuously sitting in Mara all day and go nowhere else then you cant seriously expect to find people.  What do you expect them to come to you.  If i were you (and yes im going on an assumption here) i would get my butt out of mara and explore the vastness of the city and constructs.  I guarentee you will find more than 3 people in 12 hours.

Besides.  I dunno how many times this thread has come up to be shot down again and again.

To merge servers at this point in the game is just going to decrease new subscriptions that we receieve.

If you look on any external discussion on the subject it will consist mainly of 2 kinds of people.

1) People just generally slagging off the game, generally people who've been banned.
2) People advertising the fiction of "The game is dead" coming from people who generally have never played and who're jumping on the bandwagon.

Merging will just give them more ammo at this time for them to try and put a nail in MxO's coffin. Currently I think we still have some time before we're dead and buried and if Rarebit is right with increasing subs then it seems that MxO's collective zombie arse is raising from the dead so to speak.

Also the database will die if you touch it so it's not a good idea anyway.
