Perhaps she needs someone to feed her some positive emotion like Neo once did. Maybe that is what she is missing. Once she tasted it nothing else could subsitute it.
I can see how this is sad coming from used to being one of the Merv's people. She can't be forced to stay any longer unless she forces herself. I don't remember the last time she was actually "happy" or filled with completely pure happiness. She is always worried and bothered by her husband and his work. It also seems she conceals her emotions and feelings around him, hence reading her poetry alone.

If I didn't know it would get him into majorly hot water with the Boss, I'd nominate my brother Merrill, aka Guillimar the Bard, to help her out in that respect. There again, his heart lies with someone else, so that might not work, either...
(What great story line development. Her poetry reading in the chateau, Swinborne, all hinted at depression and feelings of "suicide." The recent contest she held to find the greatest love story. Persephone was, I believe, created to be a sensual program. With her husband, "finding new toys," she most likely feels anything but sensual. Methinks the lady has been looking for her lost sensuality, her lost feelings. Ah, the difference between love and lust!
I'm sad I missed this event. Great job Rarebit! Makes me lust to learn what the lady will do next, and of course her husbands reaction when he learns of this.

((Yeah please avoid the politics. The game has politics, but really I doubt persephone would be the gaybashing, modest woman, who detests pornography and overt sexuality, and all the corruptness.
