Charmant, n'est-ce pas? The ideologue stands by and watches as a man dies in reaction to her--shall we say, flamboyant?--new appearance, while promising him that she is there to help. Hm! I do not think any of us want your sort of help, mademoiselle, but then, we are already a step ahead of you.

((I always love these events the best, even though there is little player interaction. So dramatic!))
Given the events surrounding Wright Research of late, this doesn't surprise me in the least. Misdirection, sleight of hand; Danielle always was a magician. Or as good as, anyway.
Now, what does "help" mean?

Looks like the machines have some explaining to do.

The world is very different now. For man holds in his mortal hands the power to abolish all forms of human poverty, and all forms of human life.

Oh, I am so vindicated. I always said she wasn't dead! Hah!
Still, that's little comfort. She's got her grubby hands on override technology, so, you know... we're all doomed.

The best weapon against an enemy is another enemy. Ms.Wright must really seek her revenge no matter of the cost.
(Something BIG is coming.....hm new Merovingian split org.???)

How is this possible? Ms. Wright affiliated with the Oligarchs?
(Would be nice to see, but who or what would be splinter org.?)

Bah, I so didn't want you be right Procurator, but it seems that you have indeed been Vindicated. Her being back is bad enough but you know what is worse? We may have to seek out and use the results from Cryptos' research into the override codes to stop Ms. Wright.
#3630049656409/09/2008 05:57:17Re:[11.1.5] "The walls of your prison" - Syntax - 9/5/08
I dunno, I can't see where this is going. It depends on Wright's relationship with the Oligarchy. If she's in league with them, then we're utterly doomed. Even the Machines will fall before a determined collective of override-wielding enemies.
If, on the other hand, Wright is acting on her own, I think we can count on the Oligarchy's support. I'm all but certain that it's in the Colony's best interests for the status quo to remain, with the Matrix in place and administered by Zero-One. At least for the time being.
#3630049656709/09/2008 06:14:20Re:[11.1.5] "The walls of your prison" - Syntax - 9/5/08
I really can't see a reason or any actual event that would cause the Oligarchy to change what they've been doing for gawd knows how long. The only events I can think of that might have done anything are; Wright herself contacting the Oligarchy, but then what would she say 'The Machines... blah evil blah blah prison blah'. I mean what facts could she tell them that they probably didn't know already?
The other event is the BIP being found by the Merv, but really why should they be peeved at the Machines for that, noone apart from the person who wrote it and a select few others knew about it until the Intruders intruded. Not the Machines fault that.
I also find it hard to believe that whilst the Oligarchy may have power over the code of the simulation and some decent defences at their colony, the Machines wouldn't have their own effective means of attacking the colony. Perhaps they arrived at a stalemate at one point, both with the power to destroy the other at the cost of themselves and so negotiated whatever standpoint they have now.
So until there is positive proof, I'm going to act on the assumption that she is acting alone, or at least without the backup of the Oligarchy. I'll also wait to see what she does next. It doesn't look good though with the apparent death of that security guy.

Not really. Only her body was ever said to have been destroyed but the words "kill" "eliminated" or "dead" were never used by them. It's another case where redpills have ignored a few facts and jumped the gun on calling someone dead (myself included). After all we have seen several humans that have separated their minds from their body and have lived without a body in the real.

Mhmm... The Machines are very... precise about their wording...

Which begs the question, Did they know this would or could happen?

I doubt the Machines can ever be certain about things when Humans are in the equation. Did they speculate or calculate that it could happen? Possibly, possibly not. I suspect we will find out soon enough

I think it's time we got the team back together again.
Fairfields Consultancy represent! I think the best way to tackle this new threat is to confuse and annoy her to death. We can pester her regarding outdated programming languages and trip her up while we search for coffee.

hrm seems logical that she shows up with the merv now that she's had dealings with everyone else :p

hmmm...
So many things we don't know. I hate to even speculate....
All I can say is that somebody better get hold of that BIP before she does, I dont like the idea of her getting any more power when we don't know what she intends to do.
#3630049673009/09/2008 16:22:09Re:[11.1.5] "The walls of your prison" - Syntax - 9/5/08
((Yep, I can't believe it Proc, but you were right all along, unbelievable and very Interesting ))
Well this would explain who was behind the program who hacked Wright Research's Network. Who would know more about the company than Wright herself. I am curious as to what she wants with the B.I.P. Still at least I can congratulate her for getting rid of Carlyne, good riddence to him.

This is very well done, very cinematic in style.
In fact I can easily see it as a cinematic, shot per shot and frame by frame. Kind of like an expanded storyboard.
#3630049676609/09/2008 19:11:49Re:[11.1.5] "The walls of your prison" - Syntax - 9/5/08
I would guess that if the Oligarchs were really intent on bringing down the Matrix, or hurting the Machines in some way, the only thing I can think of for the Machines to combat them (at least from what we've been shown) is to create another One. Probably far fetched, I know. But I can dream can't I?
