It is unfortunate that Monsieur Carlyne did not stay for cake. But we have seen, mes amis, that he was pressed for time. Quel dommage; stress cannot be good for one in his condition.

Eh-heh. This could be interesting. Merv won't be able to keep the BIP out of Carlyne's hands. The BIP itself might, of course.

I wonder whether Carlyne's acting on behalf of the Oligarchy or if he's gone rogue, as Halborn seemed to have.

Way to punk out Merv. Though now Carlyne is almost certain he is going to get what he came for since he knows pretty much all of our tactics of getting rid of the Oligarchs.

I'm hesitant to call Carlyne an Oligarch. When I overheard him talk to someone (I forget who; Gray maybe), he said he would report Halborn 'to the Oligarchs'. If he was one himself, he would have said 'the other Oligarchs'.

He is clearly a member of the Oligarchy, certainly. However, that society has two levels: the citizens and the Oligarchs themselves. The Oligarchs are to the Oligarchy what the Council is to Zion.

I continue to wonder what profit is in it for the Merovingian to turn the program over to Carylne. Seems odd to me that he would just give the program away, unless perhaps he has over ridden the security on the program and copied and/or altered it. Then "giving" it away could generate a different sort of profit.

I look forward to the next development in this saga.
