Hey ... It's my 30th coming up. As I was born the same year that Space Invaders was made, I've decided to make my party a dress up with the theme of video Game stuff:

Anyone got any good ideas for costumes? I really don't want to spend much so a good master chief outfit is out of the question (1000 pounds?) SMILEY

So far the most practical idea for me is Donkey Kong (Gorilla Suit, red tie, stick on yellow paper DK to tie, plastic banana). I'm also thinking maybe a rally driver (Collin McCrae) or Psymon from SSX. Of course Battletoads or Ninja Gaiden would be cool too.

Ideas that have been taken by other atendees so far:
  • Mario & Luigi
  • A family of peripherals (steering wheel, joystick and two little mouses)
  • Tetris Pieces
  • pong (two people in black with white ping pong paddles, a ping pong ball and a friend in white as the net)
  • Ken or Ryu from Street Fighter
  • pac man and pac girl
  • Sims (complete with selection crystal marker over their head)
  • A family of lemmings

Lara Croft... (The classic look)

or

If you have access to a massive oversized sword...

Cloud Strife...?

Link - all you'd need is white tights, green t- shirt, brown belt and boots, then a sword and shield.

Or

Duke Nukem - That would be an easy costume.

Well, I was going to suggest Pyramid head, but that might be even worse than the Master Chief outfit. SMILEY

Not bad... an apron with fake blood, a big knife and a pyramid (both can be made from cardboard, tape and tinfoil with a little paint)... totally doable.

keep them coming ... get creative. SMILEY

Dr. Mario

Just to name a few.

Ha! The oldies but goodies.  Of course, Mylo:

Pretty simple: pink suspender overalls, blue tshirt, red miner's hat, pickaxe, old light fixture for newly mined huge crystal, and red clown shoe boots.

And for the special lady of the party, of course Jill:

Also simple: Black ankle boots, green sleeveless bodysuit, long blonde wig, weapons (knife, spinning blade, jump arrows), lucky charms (apples, flaming bird, fish, frog), and enemies (ants, crabs, alligators, beehives, stalactites--maybe even a scary knight).  Icons, of course, except the apples SMILEY  Also a little stash of gems and keys.
