Ok, first of all thats joke. Four hours to fix the bug with the boxes? Thats more time than it took to apply the update in the first place. More time than its taken to apply any update as far as I know.

Now this post was not made becuase I need to play MxO or anything like that. But is SOE really that inefficient? That they need so much time to apply a seemingly small update. Maybe it comes down to having such a small team or not having a Test Server, but i'm not so sure.

Or maybe this is just the Update 53 Hotfix all over again.

The post says "Server Software Update" i don't believe it has anything to do with a patch for the game..

Maintenance, that's just how it is. Nearly all MMO-games have this long a downtime, so I really don't see the problem. In LOTRO there is a downtime of 2-3 hours every week, even when it seems there is nothing to "fix".

Nah, Server restarts usualy mean 1 hour downtime. Updates mean 3 hours downtime. 4-5 hours just seems excessive for a software update.

This thread has been locked for excessive negativity and minor flames.

Down times happen and when it comes to updating servers it's better to have a big window than to say they will be back in an hour and it turns out to be four. As for the flames, they are not needed, period.
