Returning player, couple questions :)

Hey guys!

Figured I would take advantage of having all access pass and return to this game and see what has all changed since I was last on. I think the last time I played was a year ago, can't really remember. I didn't play this game for long though, maybe just the free month when I purchased and I quit off it. When I get all patched up I will probably delete my old characters and start fresh again. Anyway, on with the questions!

Is the game really solo friendly? I remember soloing 100% of the time, but again I didn't get very far. I don't know anyone in this game, and never have. I probably missed out on alot when I first played and hope to change that, but I am a soloer over a grouper.

Also, I keep hearing about a combat revamp? When did that take place? Wasn't sure if that was before or after I played.

I prefer PvE over PvP, which server would be the best for me to start up with on as a new character? I usually prefer lower population, but since the quest areas are instanced (if I remember right?), it don't really matter.

Haven't decided on if I will join a guild or not, if thats what they are called here. I am not a RP'er at all, so I guess if their are any "noob" guilds out their that wouldn't mind a player that is starting over, I wouldn't mind chatting about the idea of joining. Also not sure if I will stick with the game or not, but I want to give it another go and maybe meeting some others will help.

Well that is about all, sorry for all the questions Any advice/tips would be awesome! Looking forward to giving this game another shot.

If low-density population and PvE is your thing, I'd recommend Recursion. And the combat revamp was in March or April of 2006. Well before you played last.

Recursion, name is Varrah. Will probably end up creating a character on the other server to, I am an alt-aholic on all the other MMOs I play, will probably end up being the same on this one to lol...anyway, if anyone on that server wants to send a tell or whatever, go for it! I dunno anyone on here yet.

on your first jack-in click the "world events" button in your options menu and /friend all the LO's listed for the server you choose.  As soon as you figure out your alliance IMMEDIATELY get in contact with them.  They will keep you informed when events are about to happen.  If you don't the game can get pretty boring, pretty quick and you'll be sorry you didn't.

If you create a Recursion character with the name Varrah, you will be unable to create a Syntax character of the same name unless you delete your Recursion character. That name will be tied to your account so noone else will be able to use it, but you cant have two characters with the same name regardless of which server they are on, unfortunately.

I usually do Virrah or some other alternate to Varrah if I already have it taken. Varrah is my real name, and the character names I do come up with are always taken lol

I played for about 10 hours straight last night, and enjoyed every minute of it. Got to level 10 and went with the Machines. Is the only faction I didn't go towards last time I played. And I totally didn't get this far before either, I really must not have gave it much of a chance before.

Am a little confused in some parts, but making it alright so far! Haven't died yet either which is a plus Might delete and remake Varrah on Syntax as well.
