#36300475630 07/07/2008 15:24:29 Why do we *CENSORED* the soldier that thinks?

I understand that we here on Vector enjoy just blowing eachother to bits, but I wonder: Does anyone actually think why they are killing someone? For those of us who somewhat RP, when you attack a "red" is it just because you can or is it because they actually impend your beliefs? For those of you who don't RP, why is it that you just go and kill something as fast/hard as you can, trash-talk to them, and not even wonder who the person is or why you're killing them? It's as if every arguement (mostly for no reason actually) can only be solved by beating eachother into the ground until one person stops coming back.

I recently had a "disagreement" with an enemy, and because he didn't like how I handled the situation, he asked everyone of his factionmates to hunt me down and destroy me everytime they even heard of me being in the area. And, most did without a second thought. They just decided that their faction mate must be right and that I'm a baby-eating satanist. I asked one of them why he was doing it, and he said "idk" "im just a soldier" "im a hitman". So this means that because we are fighters, we can't question why we do things? Why should we be so ignorant?

The first paragraph is merely a question and not a way of shaming Vector. I just don't understand why all we are supposed to do is kill eachother over and over again. Maybe it's like this on every server, but I don't know because I've only played on Vector. Many of you will probably just think I'm an idiot and that I don't belong on Vector. Just like everybody else...

Because pvp is fun and the only reason to roll a 50 on Vector is to take advantage of the hostile status.
#36300475643 07/07/2008 15:35:38 Re:Why do we *CENSORED* the soldier that thinks?
It's Vector, therefore a large majority will want to just kill without regard to the player they're killing because it's a PvP server. Therefore you can expect little or no regard for any RP perspective from the majority of players.

There is quite a bit of RP and player run stories going on at the moment on Vector. Someone who really only logs in for our Live events wouldn't notice that xD

I guess.

Never said there wasn't RP there, I've actually been part of the RP there every now and then.  But from most people's perspectives there is no point in going to the massive effort to roll a 50 there unless you really like to pvp seeing as it is a hostile server.  I log on during most live events there because that's when the biggest and best pvp is, however I log on a fair amount of time otherwise.

I suppose the real reason I made this thread is because I was pissed about my little "encounter" with that enemy faction. But, now that I've cooled off a bit, I understand the point of Vector and if I wanted things to be my way, I guess I would have to go to Syntax or Recursion (never!).

Question to you too....if you dont understand it, why do you insist on sticking your foot in my nether regions ad nauseum? Is it because you can? Do you question why you do it ? lol   SMILEY SMILEY

Actually, yes. If you remember correctly, I never laid a hand on you until you came after me.

#36300475814 07/08/2008 01:37:53 Re:Why do we *CENSORED* the soldier that thinks?

Well, to be honest, I dont usually attack anyone.

If I did, there must have been a reason, unless it was hectic, mindless pvp (yes, it does occur now and again SMILEY)

However, my attacking you once makes you go for the weak man's cheap shot (punt) everytime you see me?

Have you analysed this? Asked yourself why? Chances are you havent...lol

Reporting a faction mate and getting him suspended for a silly comment will naturally annoy the rest of his faction. Some factions are like families, abuse one, you abuse them all.

We're kinda like that in SS.Offend one, offend all.

I rest my case ....Oh and I'm still sending you my gynae bill for the damage from the punts...SMILEY

I can sorta see where you coming from Since i grew up with this game, and tbh, Input/vector and im sure the other 2 old hostile servers where the same, You don't need a reason to kill someone, and believe it or not, the reason i kill someone is for fun, nothing more nothing less, Now i don't talk *poop* anymore, but some people do, but who cares, Ignore them. RP if you want to RP have a reason if you'd like to have one, But you can't expect everyone on the hostile server to have the same views and opinions you do. I don't think KD stopping and shouting "You M.r Madbent have offended My right to serve the merovingian, GGET HIM! RAHHH" Is going to make any difference, but hey enjoy yourself anyway you can in this game, thats what you pay for SMILEY

Actually that might be entertaining KD SMILEY

But really, this is a game... if it ceases to be fun or you find yourself getting emotional it is past time to log.

That has always been the case with hostile environments War...You either accept it or you don't!I can understand your frustration but maybe it's time to ask yourself "Do i still have fun?"...Because if you don't,as Mad said,it is past time to log!!

Too right....and as I said....chat filter ftw if you get offended easily...this game is about war...no ones gonna be polite as they kill you , are they?

oh and I hope KD has that long sentence macro'd..by the time he typed it, he'd be dead !! lol SMILEY

If anyone says the "N" word to me, or any other racist, prejudice, or racially ignorant comment to me, you can be sure that a CCR will follow, because I am done with that. I understand this is war and people aren't always going to be friendly to eachother, but we don't need more racists in this game.

EDIT: Lol, s h i t censors to *poop*.

I'm not. That's why I haven't logged in for a couple days. I'd rather have me some fun!

Though I agree with Omnimonki's point, there's one question he asked (or a statement he made) that really answered the question if he bothered to look around on things like the RPPvP thread. There's three types of players on Vector: Roleplayers, PVP Addicts, and those who RP only when it suits them (read: live events). Then the PVP Addicts break down into more categories: People who enjoy mass PVP, duelists, and griefers. Those who enjoy mass PVP will generally log on or participate in PVP when there's a number of people on. The duelists concentrate on 1 on 1 situations. And the griefers will crash both live events and player events, simply because they can. It's not uncommon for Vectorites to move into and out of the various roles based on mood or atmosphere. I'm not going to put effort into roleplaying when I am fighting a zerg (or in a zerg) at Mara.

About the only impromptu RP I have these days is on the rare occasion that I encounter a red or blue alone in some remote area. Being familiar with Vector's core population, however, means that I know who would RP and who would not. So it actually limits the number of spur of the moment roleplay interactions.

I guess it's because I know that by not killing at least 1 or 2 reds once every couple of months.  The population will grow beyond the Matrix capacity.  Then they would have to re-implement Neo to solve it.. when I can just log on and solve that problem for Zion.. SMILEY
