How would the game know your age?
And you said it yourself, he was calling someone a name, if it was language used towards someone they were right to suspend, but even Niobe lets off the odd blue word when it isn't directed at anyone or at the least directed at NPCs
I'm trying to remember if there was any place in the SOE registration where you have to give your date of birth... Though no doubt, kids probably put their ages down as something else, all the time. How would the game know your age?
I say they should put a feature in that doesn't allow anyone under 12 to turn off safe chat. Some of you people whine too much over profanity, I can understand racism, sexual insults, or harassment but some of you people seriously need to grow some balls. My friend got suspended for 10 days for calling someone a a-hole and I know people who got away with only a warning for waaaayyy worse. It's against the TOS to harass other players. The only reason other people get away with way worse is because no one reports it. Either way there are much better ways to handle a situation than name-calling and cursing, so no, it would be a total waste of dev time to implement something of this nature.
I had halborn telling me to F off when I said "how are you doing?" or whatever those four stars where cause I had safe chat on. So should I report rarebit? How would the game know your age?

Rarebit doesn't like to drop the F-bombs, It was probably the P word.
This is the only game where you have to watch your language, because sadly there are those who if you let one word slip will CCR you right away in hopes of getting you banned, mostly because they just don't like you.I agree, most people I know ccr others just to get back at them especially in the non-hostile servers. I play lots of other online games and I don't have to watch my behavior or language at all and most of them have more players playing on them than matrix online. I think most people leave this game because there tired of this.
In any case the TOS allow the CSR's to do anything from give a warning to a complete ban on any action that violates the TOS, unfortunately it does depend on which CSR who will deal with the issue although "usually" they take the severity of what happened into account.

I'll put it simply, he didn't say "***hole".
If you see a 12 year old playing the game anyway then report them because they shouldn't be playing it anyway due to the "The Children's Online Privacy Act (2000)".

Not only that, I just think that kids the age of 12 should be doing more with their lives then play MMO's. I know I did. The addiction came only later...
