The Merv on another power trip is definitely something we do not need right now.

I want to thank Azarus, JynxSolo, Phiberglas, Skyscape, and TameDragon for hanging tough in the chateau with me, and everyone else for keeping those bastards occupied outside the club.

Imbeciles imbeciles imbeciles. You steal the oligarch data from the only people aside from the machines with even a CHANCE of decrypting it. Gah, karma is a vengeful maiden, and I need not warn you to expect the most severe reaction from the Merovingian. Brace yourselves, zionites.

For as long as zion has this data, you will not. We are the ones who have a near steady stream of information from the aformentioned party and we are also the only ones who know where to find the decryption variable. You zionites might has well have set your entire city back 100 years. Just when i think zion is becoming slightly intelligible to the world around them BAM things such as this occur.

Ahem, now for a final word.

Protip: When in a war where you are already outnumbered by Machines and Cypherites, messing with an already touchy and somewhat neutral third organization isn't reccommended.

Although unexpected on Rarebit's behalf, I love events where all 3 organizations are involved. The PvP zone outside of the club while Zion tried to hold off the Cypherites was a nice touch. Any event where the twins are involved is win as well. SMILEY

Well Let's see wrong with this sentance. 1. The Cypherites were never meant to be involved, you and your bunch just showed up to try and Ruin everything, like you do with many events. 2. The Cypherites are not a Proper Organisation but a collection of Brainless Misfits and 3. The Pandora Boxes that were dropped was never part of the event at all, but as another way to ruin things.

Brainless wha? And seeing how we were the only opposition there, and a PvP area was turned on, I'd have to say that you're wrong. I have no idea who dropped the Pandora's Boxes, but I was attacked by the NPC's as well. Just another challenge. l2p.

If Rarebit made it a PVP zone, then clearly the area was meant to be attacked, so I don't think you could call it griefing in this instance .. unless it was a kind of intentional "griefing" Rarebit knew it would attract.

Hear hear.

You Zionites seem incapable of seeing beyond your own noses.  All of you care about is your little neverding children's games of oneupsmanship, while we are the only ones doing all the legwork about whats really going on in the real.  You'd think Zion would think outside the box for once.  Nope, it seems they are constitutionally incapable of it.  What a shame.  No wonder youre still stuck in caves, rags, bare feet and slop.

I'm not going to comment on whether or not the Cypherites are bastards, but I will say this: Just because there was a PvP zone, and the Cypherites decided to show up, that doesn't mean they were supposed to be involved.  I'm pretty sure Rarebit makes decisions like that before the event starts.

The fact that the possibility was there negates that fact. "Unexpected" could very well be from the viewpoint of Zion. I did not recall any Merovingian operatives there, so who exactly were you supposed to be fighting? The Twins? If that were the case, the character could have gone hostile instead of a PvP zone being erected. I'm sorry if you like to go along with the story, written to a tee without any sort of input. Many of us don't feel the same. So we'll continue to interfere with and impact any LE that we can, in order cash in on the "Shape the future of The Matrix!" advert that we saw on that MxO box.

Feel free to interfere with a Cypherite event at your own disgrestion. You sure won't see us complaining.

Also, you can always org lock the event's area or get teleported to another construct. I don't think that Rarebit would've mentioned the Cypherite attack if he didn't want us playing a part in it.

There are limits to my patience. If a PVP zone has been placed, then PVP is usually welcome, but things like setting off Pandora Box 4s inside the Hel Club parking lot during that event, on top of repeated Runtime Bit use, came very close to me starting to boot people to their desktops, and then reporting them to CS afterwards. As it happened, I had a tiny bit of patience remaining and just settled for nullifying the box sequences, but that will not always be the case. Please bear this sort of thing in mind. Just because you are given an opportunity to participate does not mean that you are welcome to make an *CENSORED* out of yourself and try to disrupt the event.

Distracting opposition by dropping a Pandora's Box has long been a diversion tactic, but yeah, tossing in Runtimes, or activating Runtimes and then dropping a Box is excessive use of diversion tactics.

I wasn't the person who had dropped Runtimes/Boxes. However, I don't see how using a Runtime Bit or dropping a Pandora's Box is anything reportable in the least. These items were given to us by you without any sort of guidelines specifying when and when not to use them. Naturally someone would utilize them in a LE compared to everyday PvP, because the items are that rare. LE's are the only instance in which our 'win' would ever be recorded.

And in the event that these items become hazardous to the ongoing plot of the story (onoghostdied), a click and the box/Runtime is useless. Congratulations for wasting something that you'll probably never get your hands on again. Or at worst, EJP/Suddenly: Level 100 Zionite NPC's! Hundreds of them! - to clean up any player based problem. Either way it seems kind of wrong to fault the players for taking things into their own hands in the only way that they can, since we really have such little imput on how these events usually end up anyway.

Participate? There was no Roleplay reasoning to the presence of Cypherites at that event, as is shown by the distinct lack of RP chat contributions. It is quite apparent that their whole intention was to disrupt the event and I cannot understand why people continue to "tip-toe" around the topic.

I actually see the Pandora's Boxes as stronger evidence of this intention than the Intruder Bits; those were at least used as they were intended and I simply nullified their effect but dropping Bits of my own. However, I resent that fact that these CYPHs were allowed to act in a manner which has compelled me to do this; especially as their presence there was irrelevent to the story content, in the first place. (/end rant)

That said, all credit to their (significantly large) team play, as it put Zion to shame. I would have had no issues facing Mervs in that situation, and I agree that it is a pity that few of them were present.

I understand this is not directly related to this event but out of respect if anything else I would also ask for some clarification regarding event tracking standards.

If you can't already tell I'm not half bad. Is this something you would wish me to avoid in the future? I always attempt to approach each event with a level of OOC and IC respect although my character is very sarcastic detached however I feel inclined to ask if you would like me to maybe take a more hands off approach in regards to my event character tracking and involvement.

I can't very well judge the scope of a situation or if I'm causing logistical issues by simply guessing. As I stated before I respect the work you do but its human nature to want to get involved especially after Cryptos being as un interactive as he was last event.

I can find anyone I want to in this game. I have spent countless hours not leveling but building an infrastructure that will allow me to know whats going down before alot of people even know whats going down. If thats a problem let me know... I can't help but feel like maybe yesterday was a little bit to much. I had alot of fun myself but to what expense of others or your ability to do what you wanted is what I'm trying to figure out.

/shrug I agree.. it's just um.. tempting.. yeah thats the word tempting SMILEY

It's no secret Syntax and Recursion Cypherite's have a stronger roleplay infrastructure.

It's also no secret that at face value they can make an easier argument for what I like to call "The money event"

I interact based on the assumption that our events going to be a throw back. I have however only seen Dreami and Sutola in action for one event since I came back. So maybe I should stop being so jaded and paranoid and putting my hand in other peoples cookie jar.  I just go off what I experienced personally for a very long time and thats the fact that Mercidos myself the rest of RR and The Authority when they decide to help out are not as strong as a case for what I deem fun dialog based events. There was a very dark period for Vector Cypherite's that at the time I was the only active RPer trying to weather... I think in itself it spoke volumes on our value and thats the last time I ever plan to bring it up in a public avenue again. Trust me.. it got brought up enough.

Were an organization of maybe 8 guys.. maybe four of us tops are active. Its what I deem as a perfect reason we get spawn based encounters where Cryptos says three words and well.. others get what Veil did today. Not out of some delusional favoritism but just the cold hard facts that these people appreciate it more. The handfull and I mean a small hand full of Native Vectorian roleplaying cypherites that really are into this stuff I can count on one hand.

Some people track these events for logs.. some people track them for ego.. I track them because if last event is any indication of the future not alot has changed except the fact that we have two LO's now that care alot and I try to get involved in the best capacity I can.

All organizations however are guilty of it. I broke into a private meeting of MLs yesterday after the Niobe event something that after careful consideration I think was disrespectful. But it happens to me to.. Somehow a member of that same faction broke the org lock at the rescent Cryptos event and killed me inside the Ourobros.

Right now it's a pretty lame circle thats going on.. we all feel a need to make alts to track events and to make them impersonal. I guess the best way I can put it is I'm done being part of the double standard hopefully the Zionites on our server will show a level of class and start doing the same. If they don't... whatever I'm not going to punish Rarebit for other peoples choices. Granted that was never the intention but... When you have 8 Zions not interacting with Niobe and chasing me around on a roof you get the picture..

It seems that Niobe had planned who she wanted to take at the start and didn't realise that one of the ones chosen had left. I think it's interesting that she chose an operative to have join her who was not at the highest possible neurokinetic level, it does not always happen with any leader.
