 SMILEY Come and play!! SMILEY

Oh and one thing: Would I finally get my Pacification-Luggable???

#36300466795 06/12/2008 03:58:33 Re:Image Retrieval - June 11, 2008

I think the smaller space will be a cool change.

More people in small area.

Plus it could be org controlled now with only having a small space to man. So could have battles for the playground!

Hehe!

Looking good rarebit! Can't wait! More PICS please!

Maybe those 'floating' cars are driving on invisible roads that you can also run on-what happens if you fall or jump off? That could also be the puzzle you have to figure out to get out to those locations-an invisible maze of roads where the clue to their existence is the cars driving on them. Or maybe hyperjump rules are different here as in buffable beyond the current limit or even not nerfed at all. I'll bet one way or another all those floating islands are accessible since Sati can bend the rules.

A non pvp construct seems the most likely as well. Why make something new that's just like something that already exists?

This is exciting, can't wait to see what it's all about. I hope this isn't the last new construct either. It's a great way to expand the game and so far the creativity put into these two is very cool.

I think it'll be a non pvp construct too. I mean imagine opening a box and Zudrag comes in and kills you.

Inevitably, this construct will end up hardly used too sadly (Until they fix how we enter the construct) and with these new boxes with enemies going onto level 100, I would rather see the PVP optional.  But thats just me.

Rarebit said he had something different in mind for this construct, so I'm guessing no-pvp. I don't know what you mean by "fixing how we enter constructs" because it's working as should be. Maybe fighting multiple level 100s will be hard, but honestly one or two isn't that big of a deal. Level 100 Agent spawns can be two-manned easily.

Considering it's similar to a Pandora's Box, they arn't going to slam 6-10 100s on you at the beginning, I would hope. Even then, time length doesn't measure difficulty, unless you can't do one box in 3 hours which I would find rather pathetic for even level 100 spawns if you have things under control.

If it was easier to enter the construct, say with an option on the HL, it could get people to PVP more in there or just use it more in general rather than HLing near your Archivist, heading to your archivist, waiting for him to send you... you have just missed it so you are going to be here a while.  Finally he starts to send you... but your book broke so now you have to buy another and wait for even longer SMILEY

That's annoying, but that's how it's always been. I see no reason to change it, it's fine as is. I'd rather development time be spent elsewhere.

But that is like saying 'Having %Bonus Debuffs that dont work is annoying, but it has always been there so come up with new stuff instead'.

Making it easier to return to the constructs will help them get used more, and actually seeing content we already have getting used more is a lot better than introducing more stuff that will end up deserted in a couple weeks.  At least I think so.

Is an extra three minutes really that tedious to wait?

IMO... yes, it is.

'Constructs' is also listed in the HL drop down box, so it was at least thought about at one time.  It would be great if they were all listed there.  We 'would' use the construct more, without a doubt.  So, maybe you'd still have to have the book equiped... that's phine.  But I think all the constructs would see more action.  New players don't even know the constructs exist unless someone tell them about them, and how to get there, now.

Ok, stick a pacification zone 100 meters around all the HLs, that will stop all those lazy people just jacking back to Mara C so they can quickly get back into a fight.

In an age where games a praised for short loading times, and making sure you are never too far away from the action, it is very unusual this game forces you to wait.  No one likes playing the waiting game.

Have you ever waited on Queue's in World of Warcraft PvP? They can take over 30 minutes occasionally before you get into a battlegrounds. There are plenty waiting periods in any game, especially MMO's that are basically known for their laid back and repetitive gameplay. Not that it's bad having repetitive gameplay, because if it's fun who doesn't want to do fun things.

Complaining about having to wait three minutes, and that it needs to be changed honestly doesn't really seem like at the top of the priority list, IMO.

I have waited on them, and there is a huge difference between Battlegrounds and Constructs, BGs require a certain amount of people and are instanced, constructs are completely open which makes the wait pointless in my opinion.

Perhaps, but I don't think so.  The current helis have a rear prepellar and these don't and I don't think the prepellar is just a texture.

Which, I'm not an expert on helicopters, but don't you have to have a rear prepallar or it won't work?

If it's so pointless, why did they do it in the first place? And then you must realize this, to change it the way you want, that requires dev time. I'd rather dev time be spent on other subjects than just changing a 3 minute-wait timer because of a few personal preferences. Alright, fine, waiting 3 minutes wouldn't be as great as waiting no minutes, but the difference between both is just for personal convienience, and honestly like I said it's not that big of a deal. Around a 3 minute wait at max? I mean come on. That doesn't even count the times when you actually make it to the Proxy when he's going right then.

Actually I'd say it would be quite simple for the Dev's to remove the rear propeller. The propellers don't move so we get a circular texture that is what about 65-75% transparent to give the visual of quickly moving blades, but it's still a texture. However the Helicopter in the image doesn't have the circular texture it looks like it's been frozen so I don't think it's going to be moving about, mind you it's a child's creation so things don't have to be perfect... also, until I see another chopper in game to check it looks like there may be a few additions to the bodywork. New model... I don't tend to think so perhaps an unused existing model or the normal model design with options that haven't been used before.

And no Helicopters don't have to have a rear rotor, many designed for working in built up areas have air jets for safety. This does the same job as a tail rotor but with less danger.

Rotors are still the cutting edge of technology, and thus these Choppers are safer in built up areas.

Normally i'd justify the construct teleportation timer on giving the orginally intended PvP a nessecary cool down period to avoid the current Mara C like environment but i've come to realise the "reconstruct, jack in, get to the archivist, load the construct, get back to where the fight was" period is enough of a cool down as it is without another waiting period attached.

Maybe the archivists can be turned into a single click teleporter system like those in hideouts. But then we'd have probably have to lose the cool teleportation effect...

Couldn't the Archivists be on a single click system which initiates a 10 second countdown and in doing so use the animation so we wouldn't loose the effect? This would cut down on waiting time but still leave some small time to cooldown.

That could work, as long as it wasn't interuptable. Can you imagine? Last second before it teleports and some nub runs in and starts the timer again *imagines animation spamming on par with when npc's speak in missions*

What I'd REALLY like to see is a new type of sky or better yet new variants in the sky cycle including times when the sky cycles into the deep blue from the Blue Sky event, the deep red from Chapter 7, and dare I say it...the Eyes in the Sky from end of beta!

This would be awesome and fit in exactly with Sati's purpose as a program!  Love to see odd colors and patters.  Plaid sky ftw!!!

I couldn't agree with you more!  I really hope Sati's Playground has some type of unique and beautiful sky!!  Something that maybe changes more rapidly too would be kewl, if that's possible... like speeding the time up even more, which would allow for all the different sky effects to changes more often.
