My thoughts?
Wow, another medieval game with swords, axes and fire. Havent publishers realized we have discovered the wheel, and lasers and stuff?
Another waste of bandwidth.

(you asked)

Though I ask that you look through it and some of the threads in the forums to see what they are offering.

But also, I hate to see another WoW games as much as the next guy, but I have come to terms with the fact that this is a genre that will never go away, and as much as I hate to say it, most of us geeks/nerds/RPers are more into the Mid evil/fairy/elf fantasy worlds then any of the other fantasy genres. So its basically trying to reach out to the bigger numbers.
I also think they are gambling with thier franchise by making the graphics demanding. But that is the easiest way to get noticed, make your game look great. Another gamble is hoping WoW's player base will dwindle enough to have a decent chunk of players come play their game. WoW has been out for quite a while now, and it will be another year (at least) until Mortal Online is released so I'm sure they are hoping for WoW's players to get tired of it and go else where by then.
But one serious disadvantage they have is this franchise is totally new, kinda popped up outa nowhere and has no history to it yet. Whats the draw other then to just try a different game. So I will say again, we will just have to see later. I for one like the image og it so far (because it reminds me of oblivion) and I do gotta give them credit for making a pretty dam good teaser trailer, but teaser trailers dont make good games.
They are not NUMB!
And the implication of bashing was what I was reffering to bro. I apologize if I seemed a bit hot headed in my view. Just tired of the same ole' same ole' "lets post a swords and wizards and castles game opinion poll", in a SCI FI game, with Matrix Junkies at the helm. Our breed is more than capable of finding our own "filler game" in between jack-ins.

And there's no need to fight and insult guys. But yes, I was saying I won't bash other people's views.
It's a FFA PvP with very few instances possibly, and is trying to stay away from the standard "Go here, kill this etc."

Roger, sorry if I came off in any hostile way. It was unnintentional.

Will it be free? Because if there are no levels and it is measured by skill, why not just play Metal gear Online (or other Online games... I suppose

But I do mirror the thoughts that if your making an MMO, there is no law that it should feature lots of races and swords and mystic armor and stuff. World of Warcraft have nailed that and the only way to knock it off its perch is to create something genuinely new and exciting.
MO is going for a Sandbox game, where you create the rides. It's like Ultima Online, only with new technology, and much more.
It doesn't have levels, but there are skills you can train.
It's like Oblivion's sytem (without the level).
Read the attributes and skills post on the main page for more info.
I'm going to have to watch this, it definitely reminds me of Ultima Online. Oh Ultima Online...it's been so long...so much fun, so many good times...if this game can mimic Ultima Online it will steal me from MxO for sure. I almost want to go play UO again right now.
Wow...I just read the part of the FAQ about the devs coming from Beta UO after I posted this...
Most of the team worked on UO

) but I hope some of you try it.^^It's a first person game, which is an automatic turn-off for me. I like to be able to see my character in all the ubar pwn armor and whatnot I get them. Also, the full-time PvP pretty much ensures that there'll be some naked dude kicking every newbie they can find in the balls at the starter village in between disco dancing.
And I'm fairly sure that video was not at all representative of gameplay.
There will be guards and they've stated "A new player has the chance to defeat an older player, depending on player skill as well as ability and equipemnt".
Hope you aren't too turned off from it.
