Come in and out of existence? Every particle we've seen can be traced back to a reaction, each of which can be explained. There's nothing mysterious going on.

I wouldn't, no. But it's not because 'they' are hiding things, it's because 'they' don't know everything. Sure, governments have their state secrets, corporations have their trade secrets, but the academic community isn't hiding anything. The very way it works prevents that from happening.
Everything you've mentioned about feeling sensations in your dreams or waking up with the feelings last felt in your dreams can be explained by the way our brains work. It's just neurons firing off, electrical signals running through our brains coming into contact with other neurons that have particular effects on the whole. We pretty much know how the brain works; it's a matter of mapping it out.
Don't get me wrong, the things our brains do are very significant, as are the things we can do to stimulate our brains. Hypnotism, psychiatry and the like, they're all rooted in some sort of science. They just tend to get obfuscated a bit, which leads a lot of people to think there's weird stuff going on.
Sorry if I come across as harsh, but I am a physicist.
