This is basically just a compilation from several different guides written by players, most notably McBain, Stackk, Gerik, and Aquatium. Mostly all I did was edit it together, and format into something that can be added to DN1 easily. I don't know that Virrago can actually add it yet, but I'm going to submit it to him and ask that it be used for the greyed out "Guide" link on www.matrixonline.com.
Anyway, I'd love to hear what everyone thinks about it.

Looks good. Don't think there's a need to describe the differences of each server like that. Might want to mention the color scheme for target's level. (Grey/Green = easy ; Purple = Very Hard, etc.)

Wow. You've put alot of work into this. I really like the phormattiing too! Nice Job!
Not too detailed, great phor beginners. I like it.
*wonders why mxospace wasn't listed as a link at the end* lol

Fantastic work.
One thing to note though, in the Newbie Trail it says that RPM gives you the Industrial Boots but she actually gives you the Industrial Shirt. I can't recall the guy's name that gives you the boots but he stands in between Acid and Override. He's the only one that doesn't require a note to trade, if memory serves, just some chopper keys.
Otherwise everything looks great so far. Still reading though...

Hey guys, thanks for taking the time! This is exactly the kind of feedback needed.
I listed the servers like that because there are so many threads where new folks ask "what server should I play on?" Is the wording not good?
Also, great idea on the NPC conning colors. I'll have to add that.
lol, sorry Phluff. It was 1:30am when I finished that. Phixed!
Wow, Garu. What a great catch! I'll need you or someone to confirm the switch for me, or I'll do it this weekend.
Keep those reviews coming!

Great, thanks Outlaw! Now I just need the stats of both items so that I can go ahead and change it. The faster I get all the revisions done, the faster I can get it to Virrago.
Does anyone see anything else that should be added?

Should there be a mention of the Archived Missions? And how new players can learn the backstory from all sides from them and how their numbers match with the cinematics. (Oh, also best link Aquatium's Cinematic thread as it is easier to see them from there as opposed to the streaming from the servers.)

Looks GREAT. The only thing I would suggest, though it might not be necessary, is to display the buffs associated with each attribute. I'm not very good with remembering stuff like that and I just re-rolled a character only to choose less than perfect attributes. Then again, there are always the stat-hack tickets.

Write your own attribute definitions coz those are wrong. Also that they work after the 5th point. Also in some of the pics where text is important should be resized properly coz that is completely unreadeble. Good work on it and see if there is something else to add from the original manual.

Well, my thinking was that this was more of a quick little tour to familiarize the new player with the character creation process and the very fundamental elements such as using the chat for when they first materialize. Leading them to the forums, especially the likes of the Redpill Rescue and Guides & FAQ's section, gives them access to a more in-depth volume of information about game play. This particular page can't be forever long, either, as it has to fit on the website.
I did change the Attributes description a bit to be more in line with CR2 abilities. Did I still get it wrong?
If I needed to add just ONE more short section, what should it be? I really don't want to go into depth on the combat, attributes, or Story. There just isn't enough room to do any of those justice. But is there something missing that a new player should at least be familiar with before he or she starts the game?

Only thing I can think of that might be good to add phor new players would be a short list of Districts, and Constructs, and the Levels they are. (possibly a small map of Richland, Westview, International, and Downtown) I know it would be easy to get too detailed... just something in general, and list the levels of npcs.

PERCEPTION - Perception is the character's ability to notice subtle changes in their surroundings. Activities that require a careful study of an opponent, such as martial arts, benefit from high perception.
FOCUS - Focus is the character's ability to concentrate and manage their performance. Activities that require excellent recall or precise body control, such as sneaking, benefit from a high Focus.
I am too tired to think about if the others are wrong.

Oh yeah, it looks like I got the two of those backwards. I'll fix them now, and try to make it sound a little less . . . corny.

Okay, it's updated per some of the suggestions put forth here.
- Newbie trail is fixed
- Attributes updated
- City Guide added
- NPC & Enemies guide added
Thanks for the help, and let me know if anything else is wrong. After a day or so, I'll send it on to Virrago.
