Oligarch Theories.

Does the ability to change one's RSI really suggest the power of The One? I thought that The One was attributed to a genetic predisposition; which could not be wholely removed from Humankind (?). If it were as simple as a passing an individual a program, why would The Machines retain the means of their demise? Weren't they party to the creation of the BIPs?

The BIP has been described as allowing control over humans (not machines) who have been disconnected from the simulation. Surely the most likely candidate as the previous recipient of the BIP is Smith: though even he is far from certain. Yes, I understand that the BIP might have exceeded its programming and may be its a two-way-street, but let's not fail to consider other possibilities.

On another point previously raised... Why would Halbourn have so many questions as concerns Neo, if (as speculated) Mr. Anderson had been passed to The Oligarchs? I just can't see it myself. The same would be the case of Morpheus, Trinity etc. as Halbourn would have received opportunity for a full debrief from first-hand witnesses.

So we've learnt the android the Merv found is actually Carlyne's body in the real. Which to me suggests his original body, like Halborn's, is dead or held in suspended animation or deepfreezed or whatever. Which backs up the 'original creators of the machines/ai' theory.

But then these new Oligarchs arn't wireframed. Which can either be a simple case of upgraded technology or an inherent difference altogether. My theory? That these new Oligarchs, or the "current" Oligarchs really since they apparently represent the society as a whole while Halborn and Carlyne were confirmed as acting independantly, are current generation humans. Not timeless immortals like the robotic creators of AI that Halborn and Carlyne were.

Which brings us to why those two were acting seperate from the rest and have their own little "compounds". Obviously the original Oligarchs had offspring, why else would there be a big facility off in the mountains for a relatively small group of people? And for a while the originals ruled as a kind of elder council but over time, given the nature of an Oligarchal society and perhaps a less than willing attitude to share their immortaliy technology to future generations, the current Oligarchs rose up and cast out the originals to facilities seperate from the main hub. Hence why they were able to operate alone.

This theory of Halborn and Carlyne's generation having a superiority complex and not sharing information is further supported by the fact the current Oligarchs apparently didn't even know about awakened humans. When the original Oligarchs either suggested or helped work on The Matrix as part of their war dealings with the Machines surely they would've known about the 1% rule, especially given Halborn was specifically asking about Neo, an awakened human. Obviously the originals didn't feel the need to share this information with the next generation, possibly due to fear of them wanting to seek out these other awakened or a potential uprising given their deceipt.

But yeah, thats about it from my random musing for now.

Now, to me, the new form of the Oligarchs is a sympton of the Machines' attempt to better craft the Matrix's resistance to them. Allow more time, and maybe they'll start to show skin, probably still tinged with their odd colors.
