Vans? We'll be able to drive vans?
TSR Eryk N.: The game is done. The service and support stopped.

Is it sad that I was thinking of candy and strangers when I saw that image as well?  (and I mean this in a truely pimp fashion and not some sicko child kidnapping since)

LOL SMILEY

Tell me we can drive this badboy! haha!

Is it something to do with the art work? Hmm?

This one is going to be interesting I can feel it!

That was the van from cinematic 4.3.  I imagine this is a sample from that *other* new construct Rarebit mentioned awhile back. Here's hoping the water treatment plant makes it in.

*rubs hands together*

I'm guessing it is the newer construct, since it's called "Work in Progress" just like Datamine was.  I can't wait to see more.

I'm starting to think that Datamine is something completely different.  SSR is the dominant element in there, and we've never seen anything about SSR before Datamine.
#36300457828 05/21/2008 15:25:05 Re:Image Retrieval - May 21, 2008
Oh, and if this is a new construct, would it be possible to have something other than the Sati sky? There's some nifty and currently unused event skies - particularly from A Piece of Blue Sky - that would be great to see again.
#36300457829 05/21/2008 15:27:24 Re:Image Retrieval - May 21, 2008
The water treatment plant I was refering to was the one Morpheus was killed in cinematic 1.3.
#36300457833 05/21/2008 15:36:09 Re:Image Retrieval - May 21, 2008

One Word:

O_o

Ok, so it's not a word.

I think we're being teased with the new contruct just like datamine.  Keep looking phor clues in that image!  Something has to be there! lol

#36300457834 05/21/2008 15:37:14 Re:Image Retrieval - May 21, 2008
This is an interesting one...though I'm not sure if it'll be the new construct...if it is, Rare must have been working pretty hard and fast SMILEY.

Possibly just some variation or Graphics on vehicles...hope its more though..

The wheels on that Van look very detailed.  May be because I have had the Pedestrians turned off for ages and all i have seen are the parked cars and this Van was origionally created for a Cinematic but I dont remember any wheels in MxO being so detailed...
#36300457845 05/21/2008 16:12:16 Re:Image Retrieval - May 21, 2008
Coming soon... The Panther Headlock!

Alright, now on a serious note.  Really hard to tell what is going on here.  None of the buildings strike me as new.  We've got Sati sky, some autumn trees, a few buildings, and that van.  Purpose?

I saw that too. Most NPC vehicles that move stick pretty much to the road, I doubt we'll be able to drive vehicles in MxO, probably due to the games code and no physics, so a new construct is looking promising but I wondering as to what program the caption is talking about...
#36300457848 05/21/2008 16:21:22 Re:Image Retrieval - May 21, 2008
New recycled contect!!!
#36300457849 05/21/2008 16:22:44 Re:Image Retrieval - May 21, 2008

It's easy to see what it is... We are gonna be able to photoshop our items and clothes!

Or maybe we will get to see kitties? I <3 kitties, *oh look! There goes one now!* /runsoverpetskittyandrunsback.

Umm perhaps we will be able to drive cars or maybe just get a lift? To like maybe a mission area? This might work, who knows but I'm pretty sure they can park those vans all around the game and have it tp you to your mission building and you get out of it and stuff, perhaps it's a taxi for Redpills that hate hyper jumping? /shakesfist at dirty hyperjumpin scum! muahahah

#36300457850 05/21/2008 16:23:28 Re:Image Retrieval - May 21, 2008
Is this going to be the construct of all the programs that lost their purpose?  Maybe it's the Oracle's personal construct...where she throws parties.  Hey that reminds me, has anyone found Sati or Seraph yet?
#36300457852 05/21/2008 16:27:20 Re:Image Retrieval - May 21, 2008
Hm... curiouser and curiouser.... I like the artwork on the van, but what does it mean...?

Having no physics means we can walk around but not drive? SMILEY It would be nice to get a yes/no on if drivable vehicles are possible cause this image is certainly implying it.
#36300457856 05/21/2008 16:33:28 Re:Image Retrieval - May 21, 2008
im confused...so many things you can have with a van it...so many things you can do with a van...

that van is definitely the same van that had the key for the cheat code vials on it's roof though. every org was in a rush to look for it

Yeah, all the lack of Physics means we wont have suspension, stunts, interactivity with the enviroment, probably wouldn't even have increasing speed SMILEY  Though that is a guess.

Increasing speed could be a buff of 1% movement speed added every second or something? SMILEY *shrugs* I'm clutching at straws here.

"Every program that is created must have a purpose."

Black 'cat' on the side of the van...  could the glitch kitty have a new purpose??

I know... I'm reaching way out there, but had to say it.

Maybe it has nothing to do with the van at all, and more to do with what is painted on it.

I'm really pretty sure it isn't driving...first of all driving is completely unnecessary.  Second, since Beta we've been told there isn't going to be driving.  Third Rarebit has already told us that he's working on a new construct, which I doubt would leave time to just implement driving.

Now, this could be unrelated to the construct...and if it is...then I have absolutely no idea what this is about.  The first "Work in progress" picture we got was really vague though, so this may be as well.

I disagree. Despite it most likely being impossible to implement, we still can't run/jump faster than a speeding car.

Yea, thats my thoughts.  I'm pretty sure hitting a hardline and running/hyperjumping is faster than finding a garage (I guess we have to store our cars somewhere eh?), then getting somewhere in the slow traffic we have (speaking of traffic, driving would completely destroy the system of traffic being a user setting and traffic would have to be the same for everyone, or non existent, so that it wouldn't look like cars are going through one another. )
#36300457928 05/21/2008 20:41:31 Re:Image Retrieval - May 21, 2008

Hmm.  Not sure what to make of this.  But it would be nice to see a construct that contained stuff from old events, like Morpheus' corpse that kept turning into flies, or Neurophyte's killcode FX (which I never got to see, since she was dead on Linenoise).

Yeah, yeah, I know what you're going to say, "recycled content sucks".  But I was happy when they added Neo's RSI to the fight club in Gracy, because I never saw that in-game until it was placed there.  And it was cool to see the "code bomb infection" effect again now that it's part of the Bomb Pet luggable.  I like seeing stuff that I've either never seen, or haven't seen in ages.
