Yeah, I really would like this too. Especially when you get that good ol' marketplace lag, and you click to buy something, only to buy that over-priced thing under it. I also sometimes end up buying things when I don't even realize I have, so a confirmation window would be nice.
And yeah, search functions.. or maybe a way to filter out female clothes from male clothes and visa versa would be great.
"Add Enhanced Twin FM-1100s to your basket?" *clicks 'Yes'*
*clicks 'Head to Checkout'*
"Purchace these 3 item(s) totalling 9,000,000$i?" *clicks 'Yes'*
... I can dream

Well, it doesn't need to be Amazon quality or anything..

It's a small detail, but please fix so it no longer reads;
"You have lost however much info from buying an item, blah, blah..."
Confirmation button = Yes
Losing 40mill through lag = No
- Search function
- Gender filter
- Sort by name
- Sort by minimum level requirement
- Buff filter (Non-buffed/Armored/Shielded/Enhanced)
These would be fab. Whilst the OP's suggestion of a confirmation window would also be welcome, it'd have to be at the bottom of the list above, priority wise...- Search function

I would have to agree with the previous posters. While the Marketplace doesn't seem highly utilized now, it may become more so if it were just slightly more robust in its offerings. Right now it really is functioning at a sort of bare minimum. I'm sure there are other more pressing matters to attend to, but this is something that should be revisited when the time is available.
"Right now"
The Marketplace wasn't even used when Monolith owned MxO.
A search function might add some usage of it, the confirmation would be nice too.
I would say the marketplace needs a complete overhaul personally. The functionality is at best minimum. Why do items that dont sell dissapear? Why do fees work all the way up to the actual price of the item your selling it for? Why cant we search?
I understand that the coding of the game probabley wouldnt allow for much of a change but a revamp is most definatley overdue.
Ya i "had" the same experience, since i got a New PC less of a hassel but i know exactly what you mean
Maybe there should be some kind of control method that stops people putting things like wooden stakes on the market for stupid prices. I mean seriously... get a grip here folks. Ive seen 1 code bit 1 for 100,000,000,000 info before. I know that we dont have alot to spend info on but thats just stupid. So perhaps a control or limit to what price you can set to certain items should be implemented?

Actually, these two features would in fact be beneficial and useful if people understood how they worked and why they are there.
On question one, just imagine if every item that had ever been posted on the Market and not sold were still siting there. I already have to hit "More" like ten times to see evrything thats available. Navigating the Market would be impossible if old stuff were not removed. The dissapearance is supposed to work as a dis-incentive to people posting stuff at a ridiculous price, i.e if noone buys your overpriced item it will dissapear and you will get nothing.
The fees are supposed to operate in much the same way. If your item is overpriced relative to its market value, it will sit there forever. You will then lose money trying to reclaim it. If you play the market and figure out appropriate prices items will usually move while you still get a decent payout.
In fact, I would argue that it if you place an item on the Market, if its there too long you ought to lose the item AND get charged the removal fee. This would immediately reduce the number of people posting "1bit for 100,000,000"
On the other issues.. absolutely "yes" to a confirmation screen. This would help eliminate the accidental buying of overpriced items. I actually assume that people sometimes overprice their item in the hopes that someone will accidentally buy it. So this might help eliminate this wasting of market space.
...putting price limits on items is tricky...certain things might be really rare, and hence actually command a ridiculous price if sold. The Market should allow for that. And figuring out what the "limit" for a particualr item might be is almost impossible.
...search function? stellar idea
as well as more filters or sorting options.
I for one would also like to see a button added along side of "More", for "All". I get really sick of hitting that button over and over again. When i want to shjop i want to see all of whats available, even if it takes a little while to load.
Finally, i just have to say that i use the Market all the time. I dont know about this "nobody uses it" mentality, as I am on there regularly. The trick to using a market is understanding how an economy works. I think maybe I'll post a user guide in redpill Rerscue or something, because its all about knowing the value of items in the world, and how to price things to sell.
Like Psilody, I use the market regularly.. despite all of it's flaws. All of the suggestions so far are good ones, though I do agree that capping prices might be difficult to do because some items actually do sell at ridiculously high prices. There really is no excuse for things like selling a Code Bit 1 for 100,000,000 info though.
I like the idea of penalising people once an item drops off the market if it is not sold. That would certainly stop people putting up items with rediculous prices
Please do not add a confirmation window.
The one click purchase system is a great way of farming info in massive increments.
The search function has my support.

Oh, I bought a stupid Warrior Halloween mask by accident last night.
