Beta Hj Change

"Long Jump"
The way I see it Beta refers to the fact that it's a preliminary, weaker version of Hyper-Jump. I think that's actually how it was originally meant, not referring to the Beta of the actual game.
Thats what's always meant. It never was a beta item, just a promotional pre-order item. Leave it be.

No. It was originally only for us who were in the closed beta/pre-order beta. SOE changed that.

Beta: a nearly complete prototype of a product (as software) - http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/beta
That's all it is. It's a BETA PROGRAM. I'm going to go eat now and get back to work.
For the nth #$%#% time, HJ Beta is a promotional item. Dig out your preorder cards and you'll read it (I'll scan mine if I have to). Only reason people think its from Beta is because you could attach it to your beta account during the Monolith days, which would become usable when it went live. Monolith sold HJ Beta as a promotional item via preorder regardless if the person was in Beta or not, and people got it and get it every time they make a new character. All SOE has done is use it for promotional via buddy keys and trial programs, for single characters, where Monolith's was perma account wide.Preordering granted you beta access so technically everyone who had HJ beta were able to log in during beta of the game aka beta players. I am not aware of that you could buy pre-order after launch.

Leave the name as is.
Since you must visit a construct where total PvP is in play, this cancels the "anyone can get it" thinking.
Low level players can so easily get ganked from high level players in the construct.
You must me a high level player to obtain the rewards so at this point the ability is worthless.
Getting it, just to say you have it, or holding onto it since beta seems crazy to me, since noone in game knows you have it anyway.

Low level player wont ever need to enter the construct to get HJ beta since they get it from the trial keys anyways.

yeah when you start a new account /claim and there you go beta hj so much for beta players now adays
I don't see the name being changed. Some sort of functional difference of the ability would require a name change.
If the abilies can be changed as easily as the numerously tweaked clothing, perhaps it is technically possible with minimal difficulty.
If they did change the name, it would give people one more unique item to collect and hold onto and have no use for only to say they have it. But these sorts of things are what people are seemingly sticking around for.
In this case sure, lets add one more worthless item to the pile for all us to collect.

yeah when you start a new account /claim and there you go beta hj so much for beta players now adaysim just glad i still got my beta gear
Yeah, I made a petition to get my beta gear/BET on my main [as it was mysteriously missing] and they told me "Sorry, we cannot confirm you had a beta account as the items were originally tradealbe before SOE bought out MxO.
SERIOUS LULZ ITT.
It's like okay... new character /claim - he's less than 30 minutes old and you cannot confirm that? Stupidest CSR on earth, I swear...
I am a pre-order person. Didn't get into beta for some reason but it's just an item. If it can help bring people to the game then I don't care if it's given away and cheapens it.

Regardless, no one else can get beta items or the Burning Eye Trench when they do the /claim, can they? Because if they can't then I'm still right.
Kybutra wrote:Any person that had the clothes or the eye coat attached to their account can make a new char, and that char will have the clothes and eye coat. It comes with every char on the account.
