#36300445615 04/22/2008 08:47:13 Evaluation 1: The martial arts (complete)

Evaluator:

For the first analysis we will look into the enhancements of the martial arts. In my studies of "redpills," I have learned that this is commonly tested by way of elimination in a series of duels between two individuals. In fact, these tournaments occur quite frequently. I'll be especially interested in evaluating the reigning champion redpills in those tournaments, should they choose to participate.

The exercise for this study will follow the elimination style of those previous competitions. Those who earn a victory over their opponent will of course, move to the second round, which will consist of all the other subjects who were victorious in the first round. Those not victorious will have reached the end of this first exercise. This will continue until there are two subjects remaining, and finally, those two will compete against each other to determine a victor.

The subjects will be placed in a scoring category upon completion of the exercise, which will be organized according to the number of total victories. The top ten subjects will receive a score measured in points, which will appear as follows:

1st - 1200 points

2nd - 1000 points

3rd - 900 points

4th - 800 points

5th - 700 points

6th - 600 points

7th - 500 points

8th - 400 points

9th - 300 points

10th - 200 points

I have also considered granting 75 points to subjects below the 10th spot, which would mean that all participants receive at least some amount of points for volunteering for this specific exercise.

Now then, as it's been explained to me, there are certain general rules followed during the competitions that this evaluation follows the style of, in order to keep things on a relatively level field. One of these rules was that the usage of performance enhancing pills or booster injections was not allowed. Another was that the redpill RSI must be reloaded into the simulation just before competing. As I understand it, this can be done through a termination of the RSI by way of damaged inflicted by another RSI through a duel scenario, or by jacking the RSI out of the Matrix entirely, and then re-entering. It's likely that a volunteer assistant may be necessary to reload RSI's during these studies. Of course, the most important restriction is to note that this is an evaluation of the martial arts programs for the time being, which means that other programs outside of the martial arts area will not be used for this analysis.

If you would like to be a subject in this day of examination, please respond here with your name in the Matrix, and a date/time you are generally available. As I understand it, this network allows the use of an alternate identification other than the name you go by, so this will be necessary. Only one subject per Data Node One identification, please, for any redpills who may be sharing access. We'll take the volunteer subjects in the order that they volunteer.

Any questions or comments are welcome here as well.

Rules in listed format:

1. To be a volunteer subject, you must state so here with your name, or in a private message to Merrit here on the Data Node One network (one name per Data Node One ID). You must also state a general day/time you can be found in the Matrix.

2. Only items from the martial arts program trees will be evaluated. There is a prerequisite set of programs that must be loaded to an RSI in order to obtain this, referred to as the "Awakened tree." Obviously, all programs from this tree will be included in the evaluation.

3. The articles of clothing Panacea shirt and Mother's coat have been excluded from this analysis and future analyses by subject request.

4. Enhancements by the use of pills or injections (referred to as "boosters" or any outside weapons (sharp wooden objects, vials of water, firearms, prison mastery device, etc.) will not be included in the evaluation.

5. Subjects must reset the RSI just before each duel. This can be done by defeat through another duel scenario, or jacking out of the simulation entirely, then entering again.

6. Those who defeat their opponent subject will move to the next round. Those who are defeated will be awarded their 75 points and will end this first exercise.

Huh? Isn't this event Zion-Only?
I mean there have a couple of Merv, Mach, EPN, CYPH - only events, and yet the 'Zion' one is open to everyone?

Not complaining, its just a bit... Meh.

When the Evaluator posted her first message, she was open to members of all organizations. I, my brother and my Exilic ward signed up and I don't recall our applications being rejected. Unfortunately, since none of us are MA-inclinded, we won't be taking part in this evaluation.

(( Nice to see some more cross-organization events. I'm hoping this becomes as big a thing as the hovercraft battles are.))

#36300445764 04/22/2008 13:38:59 Re:Evaluation 1: The martial arts - 4/26, 12:00PM

Merrit just relays messages for the Evaluator, who is an unaligned exile.

Said exile is interested in the abilities of all redpills, not just those affiliated with Zion.

What of Pancea and Mother's Coat? Buffs and upgrades? Do we have to be kung fu, aikido and/or karate or can we be a class that uses self defense?

Okay, there are a few subjects remaining in the tier that need to be tested. Will subjects TheHidden01, RazuacheV2, poochini, Vosiler and Mattku be available this Saturday? If so, what time is best for each of you individually?

Poochini is out for good, unless he makes a massive return.

I'll show, but I too run an event every Saturday and can't make it. Unless it is about 8pm GMT... The rest are also Dragoons and active, but I cannot say for certain if they will be able to make it Saturday.

There has not been an update for when it is prefered for us to finish off tier 2, we were asked if we were free this weekend to which we said we were but no reply

/shrug

Tell us a date and time and i will pass it on and im sure we will be there.
#36300468345 06/17/2008 09:36:52 Re:Evaluation 1: The martial arts - tier 2 pending completion

Evaluator:

I've only heard from three of the five left so far, and I did search for them Saturday afternoon, but as I wasn't able to nail down a specific time that day, I didn't expect to catch them. I can try to find you again Saturday unless it can be done sooner than that.

I'll also need a response from RazuacheV2 and poochini informing me if they wish to continue with this or not soon, otherwise we may have to assume they do not.

I am free Saturday so i can do that obviously pending the aforementioned complication SMILEY

I have not seen Poochni for at least a month now so i believe it is safe to assume he will not be continuing the evaluation, RazuacheV2 i have spoken too and he is in active service if you require him to post here i will pass that onto him.

I will talk to him this evening, and prod the other 2 in the direction of this thread.
