In your inventory you can 'prefer' weapons depending on type. I thought that this meant that they were used, according to what ability each required, over anything else in the inventory. Now I have a 'preferred' pistol, duel pistols, rifle and duel smg's, however when I go farming and loot a few low level weapons along the way the abilities always seem to use the first weapon of the correct type available in inventory rather than my 'preferred' choices.

Do I have the meaning totally wrong or is it a bug that's never been fixed?

If my presumption was right and it is a bug, I obviously don't see it as a major issue. In PvP I usually clear out my loot before hand but if I forget  or I'm farming then combat comes my way then some abilities will be using weapons with a lower base rate of damage.

Yeah, I always seem to end up equiping my Augmented Redpill Special even though I've set my Twin Magnums as preferred and I'm doing a move that can use dual pistols.

To my understanding it works like this.

You have a gun equipped that is the gun you use however if you use an ability that requires say duel handguns then you set the preferred weapon and it will use that weapon when using those moves.

So statistically speaking it's best to use your Augmented red pill for normal attacks that don't require a duel handgun due to the stats on the gun.

Granted i been drinking so i may be off on this so confirmation would be cool.

I can tell from your typing.

You are right... Sort of. That's what's SUPPOSED to happen. But often times it will just select whatever gun it can find first in your inventory (or it'll just use the gun you currently have equipped that may not be your preferred) as opposed to  the actually preferred gun, making the prefer option pretty useless.

For example, I am using a pistol or SMGs for freefire attacks (as opposed to any rifle). If I set MESON RIFLE to PREFERRED RIFLE, then go to use a rifle ability, if I have "Bormann 5000" as a gun placed in my inventory before it it'll just use the Bormann 5000 and thus do less damage than the Meson would.

Also, if you set an automatic rifle as your preferred you can snipe with that rifle as opposed to a sniper rifle.

What was wrong with my typing. I even went back and tried to correct stuff.... oh forget it i should go to bed.

I shall keep an eye for said thing happening though. I never noticed it.
