I am a MMO vet who has played allot of MMOs. I have beta tested this game and others. I have a habit of every year coming back and playing old MMOs I have played in the past the matrix online being one of them. I left the first time around because of the fact I couldn't find much els to do other then missions and grinding.

The combat was nice when you got to higher levels but at lower levels the animations where and still are limited and some just are not to matrix like. the power finishers for example at lower levels is the guy graving him by the neck and just waling on him. Not very cool looking at all really lame if I can be so bold to say game braking for some matrix fans.

The story line development is nice but the fact you have to have items in you're inventory to get these missions are a little confusing to some and leave me annoyed trying to organize them. Why they just didn't add a mission tab on to the existing one I will never know.

crafting is well done all tho I find the whole program pet thing not very matrix like. Same for the viruses thing I am sure you could make up some thing to fit in to the story but for some it just doesn't fly. the MA classes should be more wide its just to limited to 3 different MA.

I haven't had a chance to delve in to the community finding its hard to find any one to talk to. no crews to join unless I'm on the wrong server.

Any ways im really just looking for a vet of MxO to give me some reasons to keep playing.

You'll always have the cinematics, at least.

Agents do that in the films.  It's called "power".  It's meant to be brutal, lacking finesse, also, you're using self-defense.  That's supposed to mean you're not very good at martial arts, thus, your attacks lack a cinematic coolness.  You're limiting your scope of what is "matrix-like" to Morpheus, Trinity, and Neo's more technique-based fighting styles.  Look at how Smith fights.

Apparently, you've been running only Archive missions. You don't need an item to run a current mission.  There is a mission tab.

Like it or not, MMO's are a business.  They have to include spellcasting classes, crafting classes, a "ranger" type class, etc.  Otherwise, you lose a huge chunk of the audience.
I know for a fact that if you removerd everything but MA, a lot of people would stop playing.  Also, can you imagine the cash it would take to animate (If we even had an animator) more matial art styles? That involves too much research, and way too many variations.  It's a money pit.

You must be.  Recursion (only server I've played for more than five minutes, other than Method) has too many crews/factions.

I understand that can you really say there was no other way to implement a Power finishing move then that? maybe a nice neck breaker or a uppercut would have done better then the ugly neck grave pounding thing. There are no other animations for power finisher that I have seen from fighting using only Power.

I kind of made that clear when the first part of that sentice was (The story line development is nice). I have played the normal missions what I was trying to put across was that having items to start a mission confuses new players and just gums up you're inventory.

Trust me I understand that completely Like I said before I am a vet MMO player and the fact these games are made to make money has never eluded me. That doesn't change the fact that these things could have bin implemented a little different. If the DEVs couldn't develop more animations for a game like MxO they should have never got into it this game. It should have bin about all look since it will always lack any real content other MMOs have.

Excuse me if I sound like a jerk but I find it hard to believe they couldn't take the time to code up 2 more MA if at least not 1 more. Don't give me tho whole YOU DON'T KNOW ANY THING ABOUT MAKING GAMES!! because It just wouldn't be true.

Pff it it'd been up to me we'd have had just guns and martial arts, and some command-line hacking at computer terminals. =p

Lets get this striate from this point to avoid the comments that are a little off.

I am not saying this game is bad, What I am saying is that it might not be for me and I am pointing out why it is not for me.

Then I am glad it was not up to you.

For you, Patriot, or anyone else who thinks about leaving, it's rarely the "fun-ness" of things that keep people doing what they're doing. It's the people. What keeps me playing this game are the good friends I have made in this game, and the good times we have. If you go around asking the 50's who have stayed on board MxO for 4 years now, most will answer that ultimately they say keep them here are the friends they've made.

I will not say anything about the complete awesomeness of the game mechanics, that's not why you should stay in an MMO. Stay for the friends you make.

I agree friend do keep you around but I would not go as far as to say it is what every MMO is about.

Well yeah, you obviously want to kill people too and all that fun stuff.. But it's one of several good reasons.

In the end all we can say is what keeps us sticking around, you have to find your own reasons for sticking with the game or leaving. We can give you suggestions and the plus points of MxO but it may not be what you're looking for for example, for me it's the story...
Personally I can't think of a single MMO out there that engages me like MxO, there are a couple on the horizon, but not yet.

Going to have to lock this thread for the recurring flamebaiting and flaming. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but attacking others over their opinion is not appropriate conduct. This goes for both parties here.

As a helpful suggestion: if you have a problem with the game and/or other forum users, signing off and leaving the issue behind may be the best solution.
