Downloaded mxo but patch wont go through

like the title says downloaded the game for my new comp it runs vista and now the patching process wont go through says "patch system error (result code -30) Unable to move/rename a file(access restriction or or read-only)

Plz Help

Try this,

1. Click the Start orb in the lower left corner.
2. Then on the right side of the window that popped up click "Control Panel"
3. Then look for the button called "User Accounts" and click it.
4. Then on the bottom there should be a link called "Turn User Account Control on or off."
5. Then there will be a check box with "User Account Control (UAC) to help your computer.", go ahead and uncheck it you don't really need it and it sometimes interferes with multiple programs.
6. You will need to restart your computer for it to take effect.

Then try it.

so i uninstalled game and reinstalled now when i go to launch game says make sure file matrix.exe in game directory is writeable

Ok update is i right click matrix .exe file and clicked the run as admin box so now it is rnning patch . Praying it does not have anymore problems

I do that with matrix.exe and it tells me I need to run the shortcut to launch the app.

If I go to the shortcut and use run as admin the patch still doesnt take.

Use should be using the Launcher.exe to run the Launcher for MxO.

i kinda said thats what i've been using.

i keep getting that <0> error, all of the 'solutions' people have posted havent worked

Just to satisfy a thought I've had on this, are you using discs to install the game or are you downloading then installing the game from somewhere? If you're installing off discs, please give information on them (as there were a few different boxes I believe.) If downloading, try to give as much information as to where and what version of the game is stated you're downloading from the location. If you're downloading off station launcher, say that instead and I can probably play around to try to duplicate your problem myself and work out a potential fix from there.

installing off of discs, box set was from the first 3 months or so after launch
