Cannot watch cut scenes

I just got the game several days ago and I'm having trouble viewing the different cut scenes that are available to view in the Loading Area.  When I click on one to play it, a new window pops up, but nothing ever happens.  The rest of the game runs fine.  It's just this one thing.  I feel like I'm missing out on a lot of story since I can't view them.  Anyone have any idea on what I should do?  Thanks.
