Ok i took a minute to think about this and how it sort of makes sense really. Allow me to explain...

When you look at the story of the matrix, how many redpills where there? There was a city, a handful of which where in the matrix at a time. Now continuing on from the movies and neglecting the fact we where told hover barges where created to allow loads in at a time, It makes sense that there is few redpills in the matrix at a time. ( sure it sucks to be like that in an MMO but still...)

Personally it sucks story wise when you think about 10 redpills standing at mara c >.> or casually sitting by a hardline (which where only ever seen to escape from the matrix as far as i am aware - dont quote me on it tho SMILEY).

Just thought i'd put that out don't you think its better that nearly everyone knows everyone and once in a blue moon we get a noobie?

Now that is a good point, in a way...

I dunno really. I know that from the films that people were never safe anywhere in the matrix and that the machines were always trying to find them. When the game was designed, we were in a truce and all that jazz, so true standing around hardlines being all chummy and such would yeah be fine I guess.

Moving onto how things are now, we're all at war again, yet there are many times when the story takes a large backseat as (and this is true with many mmo's) people like to use the space as a social place to chat with friends they've made over the time on the game. True, the devs decided to make it so that Agents pop-up on Zions in places outside Richland but they're nothing more than a very mild problem as you just HJ and poof they're gone, not chasing you anymore.

Yes, I'm blabbering I know, I need to wipe the drool from my face and start again with this probably, ah well.

What else? Oooooh yeah. I think in terms of bluepills being awakened, as in new players sneaking in once every however long it is, is better in terms of what someone might class as "purist roleplaying" ie trying to do rp exactly as if you were really really in the matrix...now that's another discussion that's been had in the past by someone... something like we're all hooked on a game about the matrix, we're now the bluepills jacking into that world... anyway moving on, that sort of rp is all fine and dandy, don't take this as me saying I don't like is as I really do. However, in terms of the state of the game (and not the world), yes it really does sucketh... long and hard yet nice for those who think it adds to realism.

that would be recursion and syntax. 9 times out of 10 you'll be killed on sight on vector doing that.

Yea i know but im talking in character it doesnt really make sense but now that theres less and less (even if they do stand around) it still sort of fits the bill of the matrix world

Well Ingus thats partially why i liked vector so much more, the constant threat level from vector made the matrix twice as exciting and "realistic" (in terms of the matrix) for me. But i wasnt really aiming this at vector ^^

It's weird, because I'm usually a numbers guy, but I must concur with the notion that a smaller, tight-knit community is very favorable.  I've played other MMOs and I like it this way.

Ah I see what you mean SMILEY

And yes, you're right in that respects, it does make more sense that there's less people jacked in, as it's not a safe place to be (although it sucks in an mmo sense hehehe)

Equally, Ingus has made the greatest point about Vector SMILEY

MxO, where users hope, pray, and proactively petition for new users, yet rationalize having a population that probably ranks in the bottom five with "it's good to have a small  tightknit community".

MxO's users have no clue what they really want.

Thank you, Stewie, for sharing that absolutely useless observation with us.

I don't know about you guys, but I have reached my peak intake of enlightment for the day!

Untrue.

NT's Want List:

A dedicated LESIG team that fully understands the responsibility they have been given.
A QA Server
Paid Server Transfers [Ability to go from non-hostile to hostile due to low server count]
A live event a week for your server/org combo
A reward system that enables dedicated RP to also produce rewards as much as "last hit"/"find" events.

Just wanted to make sure that the misconception that we're unsure of ourselves was cleared up.

I agree with the size, as one of those aforementioned newbies, it does seem to fit the idea of the Matrix being a dangerous place. Two big thumbs up for me.

Just because we say we LIKE the small community isn't a way for us to try to JUSTIFY it.  And we believe that more isn't always 100% better.  Obviously there are advantages to having more people.  That doesn't mean less people is so horrible.
