heh, I'd just seen that on yahoo. I didn't know about a lot of those things, mainly I just knew him for the Space Odyssey. He reached quite an age for someone with polio. RIP, good sir.

A legend indeed. His vision stretched far beyond his surrounding and saw the future. A future we have in some ways attained (communication satellites) and in ways we have yet to attain (space elevator).
May he rest in peace and his ideas an inspirations steer us towards a positive and bright future.

Read about this in the paper when I was on lunchbreak at work. Very sad, but at least he's out of whatever pain his chronic illness caused him. I've only read/seen "2001: A Space Odyssey", and I'd started "Childhood's End", but I think now would be a very good time to pick it up again.
How sad, I was just at the used book store Sunday and was actually looking at one of his books and was thinking of picking it up.
