I needed some help...I tried to talking my Operator and it didn't work. Why am I thinking about her all the time now? It's been....forever....since that night...
Part 1 Of 5.
11 days before my awakening...
It was a week before my graduation ceremony, if you could even call it that. It was Friday afternoon, the ceremony was the upcoming tuesday. I was hanging out with Jon, Derek, and Sophia. We were all in the celebrating mood, we had just left the movie theatre, we had seen The Eye, it had Jon laughing at Sophia, she was spooked, and Derek not shutting up about how hot Jessica Alba was, which is true, but how long can he go on about it? We walked onto the sidewalk, leaving the movie entrance plaza, Jon making noises like a ghost, Derek saying how he was moving to California in the United States, I looked around, half listening, I looked at the City that never changes. The Mega City, the newspaper called it, I guess it was a Mega City. The size of a large island, four districts, and several small neighborhoods within each. I always wondered how far off from the United States we were, now that I think about it, there is no United States, just dead and desert. The Mega City is supposedly an island set off from the other countries and states, they call it the Mega City, me and Sophia called it City of 99. Since that's what it seemed to stay. In this city, for some reason, everyone liked things staying the same. Even us younger people, it seemed to always be 1999, even though the year was 2008, or so we thought. The few reformists that were around, were riot starters, always got taken out by the SWAT team members, sometimes, the CIA: Agents themselves. All because some new idea reformers swung by, mostly kids. The only new branches of technology that showed a glimpse in this city were the theatres, the news, and the redpill gang members, with their fancy weapons and tools. Jon continued to ridicule Sophia for her fear, Ooh, I see dead people! Woooooo!!! Sophia replied in frustration, that's not even the right movie *CENSORED*, we saw the Eye, the Sixth sense came out years ago. Just like this city I joked. Sophia continued on, Am I the only one who was spoked by that movie? It got me a little creeped out too, I said. Jon replied, you're just saying that because she's your girlfriend, it's just a movie. I gave him a cross look, then I turned to Derek, didn't it give you a bit of a jump man, even though I was just defending Sophia, Derek replied, yeah, a little, but I was comforted, how so I asked, knowing the answer all ready. By Jessica Alba's super hotness! Are you kidding me? How can you not be comforted, she's so fine. I mean, when I graduate, I'm dumping this island, and moving to USA to marry her, for sure. I chuckled, and Sophia, crushing poor Derek's dreams, said to him, you do know she's pregnant right? Derek sighed, and said, we can look past that. All four of us laughed at that. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a strange man, sitting on the edge of the roof top. His coat was blowing in the wind, he had dark sunglasses, it was like his eyes were nothing, a chill ran down my spine. Let's get out of here guys, hit Peg's Diner. They all agreed, then Sophia added, we are NOT going to westview for a stupid diner, there's plenty of safe ones here in Vauxton. Are you joking Sophia, said Jon, despite the big city, there's more danger here then in westview, gangs are way more organized. I told Sophia I'd keep her safe, and with protest, we headed toward the subway, bought subway tokens, and got onboard. The reflection of that man reflected in the subway window, i jumped and turned around. Just the regular subway crowd. Jon looked at Sophia in sarcastic anger, look what you did to him, he's gonna' be a chick just like you now. Sophia slapped him, me and derek laughed, and we sat down, waiting for the next stop, in westview. The Conductor yelled for everyone to sit down, mumbled *CENSORED* teenagers, like usual, and closed the automatic doors.
