Although they operate in the greatest secrecy, the Archivist Society cannot conceal all evidence of their vastly increased activity level, including that of their most notorious member, Hypatia. Is this spurred merely by an interest in extracting greater profits through the exploitation of their collection of archaic data, or is there some other motive at work?

It would have been funny to see the archivist with a book stuck to his hand as a part of this event. lol

It was a team win and Se7 did /sit on his own.

The 200mill was divided between ghostxx, jard, old and se7.

I didn't keep any so F off. I have billions 200mill is pocket change.

I wasn't there but before people go off the wall and *poop* I wanted to say this in defense of Balance. We know pvp. We know how to win. Balance is a very strategic faction both in events and pvp alike. I don't believe any one of my factionmates in Balance would deliberately pull some shady *poop* for any reason. Even though this thread has absolutely nothing to do with me, it does in a sense because it involves a faction I'm in. Don't call it cheap unless you know the facts. I don't run with cheapasses in any faction I roll with ..that's why I feel like this 2 cents is needed. Cap you are entitled to your own thinking and I'm not degrading you or anything so don't take it personal.

Eh, in a contest of individual skill, teaming up for a better chance of winning would be considered "rigging it"

But meh what do I know? I'm elderly and bewildered.

It's very cool of the Archivist Society to take an interest in the opinions of those who frequent the Archived Constructs in order they may improve it in a fashion more towards their tastes, if indeed, any such improvement is needed.

#36300419594 03/04/2008 23:03:34 Re:[9.3.2] "Is the Datamine useful to you?" - 3/3/08

Well, Tranque ..think of it this way

it's like The Gauntlet only in an mmo...you gotta strategize for your own kills effeciently even if that means teaming up and then out doing your friends or voting them off the island to win...

we need more than just Datamine like this imo...it should be ffa no matter where when we /pvp

*plus it would be more cqs to stroke our pvpness without org hopping or having to log on with different rsi's every 2 seconds*

They can say what they want.

There was 2 Balance member left, so we were gonna win anyways.

Fact is the team got info from this and none of us needed the info anyways.

"Sh*ts and Giggles" is what it's all about.

That was very interesting.  I had fun reading Sharas' dialogue :)

Intriguing event.  Nice of the Archivist Society to do a little follow up survey on the goings-on inside the Datamine.  They have certainly allowed me to become wealthier than previously, which is much appreciated.

It was still massive phail, you could've at least tried to put on a show.

Anyway about the event, aka The Survey: It's good that Rarebit asks these questions and hopefully keeps them in mind for whatever future projects are in his crazy head. I like the Archivist Society bits of story but, like almost all or most of the programs/exile gangs, I'd love to see a lot more backstory on them.
#36300419901 03/05/2008 12:19:58 Re:[9.3.2] "Is the Datamine useful to you?" - 3/3/08
I agree with ThePigeonKing.  Once this whole intruder business is straightened out and things return back to a relitively normal routine, I think that a chapter or two could be devoted to learning more about Programs/Exiles.  It would also put the focus on Merv, who is often sort of ignored by the other orgs imo.

No, no, it was your massive fail. We had fun. I don't put shows on for people I could careless about.

Suddenly when $info is up for grabs, you have to abandon alliances with others in the FFA construct? I think not. I would have done the same exact thing Craint did TBH. Anyone else who didn't think to do the same missed out.

Actually, everyone that was there that wasn't a Merv had no chance; It was Merv or nothing with their numbers, with at least two in sneak just hanging around doing nothing and then the rest (still a majority) zerg-raping each person individually. As a pvp tactic, gg, good job and all that. But saying "anyone else who didn't think of that awesome plan" is stupid if we didn't even have a chance to do that.

/sitting so Craint could kill them was just cocky as hell for the both of them. If you wanted your team to win then you can /suicide, hyperjump away, sit there and see if Rarebit would accept a "team win," or actually duke it out so the best man on your team wins. Instead it just seemed like a big waste of time and a laugh in our faces.

But, I'm just typing out this rant so you can see why people were frustrated and shouting "FAIL" and "MEATWAD CRAINT." It was just typical cocky behavior for the guy, just so he can win one or two days worth of datamining info. gg again.

K? So now that you know can we drop it? Thanks.

I thought the "first parts" of the event involve the Archivest speaking to one or two people was very well done and actually found it very interesting.

The random "kill each other because" section was fairly lame.

K? So now that you know can we drop it? Thanks. I was done after the last post, but some people just wanna ad there 2cents.

#36300422270 03/09/2008 13:10:51 Re:[9.3.2] "Is the Datamine useful to you?" - 3/3/08

hrm the idea of a luggable or 2 in there does seem really cool...

if it could somehow give like a boost to data mining so you dont fail so much, along with maybe extra defense or some sort of boost, with a downside as you become visible on the map for all to see.

to have a boss in there would seem cool but i have no idea how it could be made to work with no lvl restrictions in there it would either force lower lvls to stay in certain areas or be killed by gangs or the boss unless this boss was placed on an island and it was the only mob in datamine...

idk my 2 cents (i'd really like to see the luggable implemented though.
