I know what your thinking, "We've talked about this many times in the past" But I urge you to read this idea as I put a lot of thought into it.


Now when I 1st thought about veteran rewards, I naturally went immediately to the requirements, and thought the best way to hand out any sort of reward would be by compared how old characters are. i.e. if you've been playing a year, you qualify, 2 years, qualify twice, and so on and so fourth. However the more I thought about it the more it seemed unfair to devoted players. SO... heres my idea.

Characters are given special tokens once that character reaches a certain /play time. The amount of time is totally up to the devs, weather it be 20 days or 100 days, no sense and arguing that point. These tokens can be traded to special collectors for a special item or ability (I know, fat chance on an ability but just throwing it out there) The collectors will have multiple items to choose from, but will each require the same token. This ensures that not everyone has the same special item and adds a little more diversity. These items would need to be uber, like on par with the Area K, patchers headgear, and the quicksilver gloves as to create a real sense of need and want for the items. But also, the collector would have one or maybe more of a SUPER item that has really killer buffs BUT it requires two tokens instead of one. This creates a real sense of sacrafice for the players as you cant just grind and farm to get all the items.

Now the reason I went with /play time is because it has its own very important function. This encourages players to actually log into MxO. Now you might say "yea but all the gotta to is go afk with an emote or something" while thats true, at least they are logging in. You cant log in without a subscription, so this could intern bring more people into MxO instead of just canceling and then resubbing over and over.

Getting players to subscribe is the hardest part, getting them to log in is the next hardest part. This idea for veteran rewards, help increase the amount of players, and we all know, more players equals more fun, and more attention from SOE.

This is probably better than what other people have put forward, as you see these people who have joined ages ago, but rarely log in, and vice versa. It would be even better if we actually GOT the abs SMILEY.
