what is it, and what does it do?
This:

If someone had the original code, someone could improve it with all those Useropts settings Bayamos has found out =/
Could always just remake it in VB. It wouldn't be hard to do just time consuming.

I think I tried it once or twice, but never used it regularly... however, if all of the user options that have been found in the mean time were implemented, it could definitely find a place on my desktop.

The attribute file that downloaded from above link on Mindsweep's comment somehow didn't work for me. It came with an error when it was run. Here though from Axmainian's own site, they work ok.
Is the attribute calculator even worth downloading now considering it was apparently made before CR2?

I'm sure you have enough free space on you'r HD for that program. It's not a 9GB program lol. After CR.2.0 it's just for the lulz i guess. Wish someone could update it. Know anyone?
img>Gave it a look, and it (MXOConfig) really wasn't that big of a deal to decompile it into high-level source code. However, it's written in a quite horrific FoxPro procedural language, and makes my eyes hurt. Would be easier for anyone who wanted to add functionality to just rewrite something in a day in something more flexible. ... But is there really a need? I mean, Notepad is pretty user friendly. And in terms of useropts, the features it supports is endless!
The attributes/XP calc stuff is in Visual Basic, so while the UI stuff decompiles and resources are easy to unpack, actual behavior is left in ASM. Some cool easter eggs, though! Again, would be easier for someone to simply rewrite.

*cough* Bay *cough*
I understand you can just put in the text or whatever it's called to a notepad file inorder to affect useropts, but I think the majority of us would like some program where everything is editable infront of you, much like the old mxoconfig file but expanded.
Thing is, my useropts list has ~2000 different commands.
If we assume that half of those are either admin-only, or actually local variables / function names and not useropts (never got around to pruning those out of the list), that's still... quite a few buttons. The design goals of "adding a bunch of more advanced useropt features" and a "easy to use click and go program" don't really mesh.
One could add those "advanced" commands to a separately titled section in a revised version of the program with descriptions of what they do, if one wanted to
Purely for experimentation purposes of course. It would let those who would otherwise not mess with the useropts an easy way to have fun doing it.
But thats just my opinion.

Yeah, I definately think the markets there. I mean, im all for 1337 text file skillz but GUIs are too darn pretty!

would love a new mxo config update too
where do you put the program so I can open it?

the desktop? that's where mine are.
img>Can't do the program but i figuire this is the next best thing ;p I was never really into the whole useropts thing( I only touched on the basic ones) but I'm interested in hearing what options people would like to see on it =o
Rough layout:

Hmm.. that's actually pretty cool. Good work
Nice work Riac! You may want to talk to Bayamos about adding different settings to that.

Riac's already heard my ideas. They mainly involved recursively scraping the /profiles/ folder once given a path to the install root, and then parsing a list of character names from the folder titles. In the event that certain players used the tool, it'd then add one or many useropts to their file that had the effect of crashing the game as soon as they opened it.
Or perhaps a program that spawns an instance of Notepad!

that idea seems really cool riac if we cant do the program that would be the next best thing i would deffintly use that.
I can do the program no problem. I can write it up in C/C++. Just link me to bayamos's useropts page, and i'll get cracking.
Email me at [email protected] if you want to ask questions, or request specific features.
--EDIT--
Upon looking over this thread closly, ~2000 settings may be a bit much. But, i'll just have to read bay's guide i guess
