ERROR MESSAGE;

Failed to create a copy of the launcher or a critical support library for patching, If you have a file called Matrix.exe in your game directory, please make sure it is writable.

Where I got the download;

I have recently reactivated my account and went to install MXO once again, with no success since I found that my disc are on the MIA list.  If anyone has an idea on what I can do to fix this issue, please let me know!!!

Go to your main "The Matrix Online" folder and you should see that launcher.exe is read-only.  Uncheck that and you will be sorted SMILEY

Hey guys, I finally got my pc back and I put MXO on it from the link above and yes I had the same issue as before, but this time I can't get the dang 'read-only' box to stay unchecked.  I uncheck it, click apply, click ok, and then try to launch MXO and the same crap pops up.  I look at the properties again, and it's checked again!  Any ideas?!

If you can, try running the client patch from the launcher after you go through the login screen and see if anything updates from there.

No VM that's not it, I can't get the launcher to even activate.  It's the same situation as my top post.

Instead of write clicking on the launcher.exe file, go up one directory and right click on it and select properties. Then try unticking the Read Only box shown there. If prompted apply it to all files and subdirectories and click ok.

If that still doesn't work, the in the game folder make sure that there is a folder called p_dlls present. If it isn't then ti can't construct the files necessary to load the launcher.

I had this problem, too. I tried unchecking read-only, but it already was. I'm guessing you're on Vista. If so :

1. Try right clicking on it again and this time click the "compatibility" tab.
2. Then "Show settings for all users" at the bottom.
3. Set privilege level to "Run this program as an administrator"

That's what did it for me. Hope it works for you or someone else.
