Scheduled for tomorrow.

Maybe The Intruder starts overloading the system and the machines stops bending over backwards for them?

That sounds about right. SMILEY

Fighting alongside Pace = awesome

Accelerated Elite Commandos = awesome

Overall, I think this mission was awesome. Sounds about right.

The fact that the Intruder can accelerate any program makes me wonder... If the Mervs were right about him seeing interest in Sati at Stalingrad, what if Sati was accelerated? SMILEY Days and nights would be mere seconds!

Yup!

useropts.cfg:
wr_envdaylength = 20
(Actually, I have no idea if it'll accept such a low value. So don't blame me if your computer blows up 'cos the sun's moving too fast. SMILEY )

Edit: It works, and it's awesome. SMILEY Can't believe I hadn't tried it before.

Hmm this is an interesting question.  Every program except Agent Pace was accelerated, what made Pace special that The Intruder didn't Accelerate her?  I mean even other Agents were Accelerated, but not her....

Fighting with Pace's help was amazing! I really, really, hope situations like that come up more frequently.

On the surface, this was a basic mission. I loved fighting beside Pace.

This mission has huge implications, as mentioned above. Pace probably cannot be accelerated. She is, most likely...human.
#36300392724 01/24/2008 14:40:09 Re:[9.2.3] Mach mission feedback thread: "Overload"
Pace is coded differently from normal Agents.. it could mean that the Intruders normal accelerating override codes for Agents are not configured to include the subtle differences of Pace's code.

Ah well... that's just speculation but I prefer it over the theory that she's Human or, even more of a stretch, Trinity..

Loved the help from Pace, the Agents and programs that we unfortunately had to retire could have been slightly harder though, in fact all accelerated programs need to be a little harder to beat.. they seem to be the same difficulty as the equivalent level non-accelerated programs....

Pace does interact with human better, she is warmer than your standard Agent.  There's just something human about Pace....something I can't quiet put my finger on.  Is she programmed differently, yes, but what is different is soon to be discovered.

I have $100 on her being human.

Note that when SIMLO was accelerated, he only became more aggressive against hostiles (Mainly zion/epn), but not against us - perhaps Pace was affected similairly.

Wait, how'd you get Pace to fight with you? Was it a Follow Me type command, in which case, why didn't you leave the mission area and wreck havoc?! XD
#36300392804 01/24/2008 16:46:55 Re:[9.2.3] Mach mission feedback thread: "Overload"
*Cries.*

Am I the only person who didn't fight alongside Pace? The hostiles appeared in a different room to the one Pace was in and she didn't follow me when I attacked them.

Edit: No, evidently I'm not the only one who didn't.
#36300392809 01/24/2008 17:00:00 Re:[9.2.3] Mach mission feedback thread: "Overload"

Yes, there was a "follow me" option... I didn't bother taking her outside. I wonder if she'd even leave?

Once you talked to Pace hostiles appeared behind you in the previous room, and if you right clicked her and clicked "Follow Me" you can then bring her back to the previous room where two Accelerated Agents are. You obviously cannot take her outside, for this mission was designed so that Pace would have to run through the room with hostiles in it to reach the elevator... And thus would not leave that room without the two hostiles eliminated, and the mission phase ending.

Fighting alongside characters like that is awesome, wish they would've done it with some of the previous missions like seraph hunting elite commandos or that time niobe got ambushed.

Hopefully it can be done more often, I'd love to join Gray and Pace in taking out some enemies! It has to be planned well though such as this one where Pace would only follow you to the next room before taking on the NPC's and facilitating the end of the mission phase else you could have people running about Tabor or Mara with main Characters in tow....

great mission,  found one small problem with agents was the damage for pistol aerial kept only doing 1 damage?

NPCs sometimes use abilities and then switch to the BLOCK tactic. Looks like their programing doesn't really let them make a decision (such as choosing a tactic or another ability) after an ability has been accepted or denied, only right after they execute an ability.
#36300393888 01/26/2008 08:40:26 Re:[9.2.3] Mach mission feedback thread: "Overload"

Very good mission indeed. I really did enjoying fighting with Pace. Lets hope there will be many more to come...

#36300393956 01/26/2008 12:03:14 Re:[9.2.3] Mach mission feedback thread: "Overload"

Well, even if he seems more willing to talk, the Intruder is still causing nothing but trouble.  This better be brought to an end sooner than later before permanent damage is done.

(( Very nice mission.  Always enjoy the exterior ambushes.  Fighting with Pace was cool, but I wish there were more than just the two enemies to fight SMILEY" width="15" height="15" />  Good storyline implications too.  Too bad I wasn't able to get any overly nice screens with Pace.  Well, there's always the archive version.  Here's a couple screens that I did get though, since others are posting their's hehe  ))

#36300394677 01/27/2008 21:04:44 Re:[9.2.3] Mach mission feedback thread: "Overload"
Ah, that sucks. I didn't get into that room until after she'd already done her damage (well, when the NPCs are less than half her level, I'm sure she makes mincemeat out of them) and I figured that they were just plants. Sounds like it was pretty cool, though.
#36300395293 01/28/2008 19:45:21 Re:[9.2.3] Mach mission feedback thread: "Overload"

Aside from fighting with Pace, this is just another stereotypical cookie cutter Machine mission, ie:

1)  Eliminate the Hostiles

2)  Eliminate the Hostiles

3)  Meet with X

4)  Eliminate the Hostiles.

Machine crits are getting to be an utter chore.

I wonder if you took a friend with you, and they made the bad guys angry and follow them into another side room, and then you could get Pace outside like that? Seems like a lot of work just for that SMILEY Although it would be neat at parties!!

Yes that was such a cool part of the mission to fight with Pace!! And wow did I get a lot of money from the accelerated bad guys! O_O I also found a level 50 jacket that I didn't have in that level 50 version before SMILEY \o/ yay!
