I'm still convinced it's new, though, not tacked onto an existing area.
This is shaping up to look rather EPIC!

Well... those of you that know me know that I'm not exactly a pillar of positivity. It's honestly been a very, very long time since I've felt this way in reference to this game...
I am officially excited.
It has to be a new district, we have seen a garbage dump with broken bridges and now a power plant with a well kept building in the back ground, unless they are going to rebundle all 4 of the districts we have now (which would be basically like re-downloading the game) we must be getting a new district with both well kept areas and derilict areas.
Awesome super curry sauce! ^_^

Odd. Exciting, intruiging, but odd. Our last few teases have featured areas surrounded by water, but the area in this image looks like it's on the city floor.
And I've tossed out my worries about this being a new construct when I've been hoping for a new district. The keyword is "new". We're getting something genuinely new. Plain and simple.
Looking forward to it! :)

Caffeine Nazi says: NO MORE CAFFEINE FOR JOOO!!! hehehe... =P
Anyways: February needs to Hurry UP!
Rarebit sure loves to TEASE!
What?!?! Where?!?! When!?!?! I want DETAILS!! *sigh*
I'm just all /giggly
MORE!
if its a power plant, what kinda NPCs will be there? I recall something being said that the zombies that were used in the halloween event were originally supposed to be workers from a powerplant that exploded or something like that. The power from the plant kept the workers alive but their code rotted or somthing which is why they looked like zombies.
I could be way off, but i remember reading that somewhere.
hmmmm

Way back when TheX was around, they had an interview with Rarebit and Paul Chadwick. I can't recall it exactly (I'll check the mp3's of their podcast again), but I think Chadwick let it slip when he asked Rarebit whatever happened to this area.

hmmmmEven though people don't like them, Unlimit would make sense in the power plant.

And hey...I was right! Power plant-ish stuff!

Yeah, I recall Paul mentioning that the Zobmies were intended for the Power Plant, but since we get them for Halloween, I doubt they'll be there too. Unlimits would make sense, but everyone's sick of them. Maybe we'll get new npcs? Regardless, this is some truly epic work!

Unlimit Zombies with Assassin masks and Elite Commando gear.
...Ugh...
But.. but.. we don't get new! Everything we've had since Blue Sky has been recycled content! Everything! Even the Area K Trench! And I've tossed out my worries about this being a new construct when I've been hoping for a new district. The keyword is "new". We're getting something genuinely new. New... it's just not... it's... I...
*thud*
Edit: Wait a minute... I recognize that pipe...

I think it is because February is next month they are getting their hopes up.
I dont think they would start posting teasers for something which isn't due in Update 59 or 60, I dont know about you but by then I would be bored of hearing of some new area that we still couldn't explore, so it should be part of the next update, Update 58.

One word - EPIC!
If it truly is a new district with new NPC's and new mission contacts and collectors and gangs, then I highly doubt it will be out on 2/21/08, as my sig states.
But a man can dream.

Already had one of those in Halloween '06.
Hmm... Sleepwalkers with blue code eyes?

./edgeofseat
Edit: Wait, since when am I Matriculated?

I'm not really thinking whole district, unless it's smaller than the existing ones. One word - EPIC!

Hmm...I can't decide if I want more pics of the area, or of NPC/items gained. I'm thinking area, cuz that means more NPCs/items.

Well, the rest of the areas that are highlighted as soon-to-be districts are much smaller than the current ones. I would guess that this is a district with possibly only one or 2 areas within it. Like a new Richland with only Mara and Tabor in it. If it was just one new district with only one area in it then it would require only 1 new gang and 1 new collector and maybe 1 new mission contact. Still a considerable task but not one as daunting as creating a totally new Downtown size district.
I just don't see it as a new area that's not a district.

WOOT!!! POWERPLANT!!! Wait... I thought 't sploded already???It got better.
