Scheduled for tomorrow.

Decelerate?

H'mm, hah, we didn't really get anywhere with this one. Veil and her little band's presence annoyed me as ever (I get the feeling she's just put in these criticals to appease the poor Cypherites who don't have their own missions), but at least the operator hates her too.

I loved the Decelerator. I haven't seen an active one up close before. They've got some groovy sound effects on the go, and it's funny how my character's head flashes in sync with the floating white bubble. And watching someone run in slow motion is always fun. SMILEY

I must agree. The differences between Cypherite and Machine/Machinist is evident right here. One side wishes to attempt communication the other will try what they can to forcibly remove the intruder despite the problems in trying to do so...

Now I know that Agent Pace was created to interact with Humans easier than her male counterparts and that Agent Gray has been able to come to respond to us as Operatives rather than mere Humans, but the Agent accompanying Pace was quite rude. It seems that we still have some work to do to show that we are more than things to order around. Mind you, he's the first one that's been like that for a while.... others have been more... diplomatic in their responses or just not very talkative...

Veil does make a good point though.  The Intruder has the power to control programs inside the Simulation.  The Simulation is made up of thousands if not millions of programs.  How long do you think it'll take for him to actually start messing with the "invisible" programs?  The programs who is doing their job, their part inside the simulation.  In 9.2, he has no problems acting arrogant towards The Architect.  Hell he could control The Architect if he wanted to, I believe he has this much power.  The machines need to stop trying to appease him and remove him from the simulation before he messes with a program that causes the simulation to become unstable and the bluepills start to see the codes.

Called the Decelerator lol

Anyway, this coulda easily been a 9.1 mish. Although I dont know what Veil thinks she can do, she sounds a lot better to me than the Machines.

Is it just me, or does it seem like the Architect doesn't work too closely with the Agents? It always seemed like in the movies he coulda helped them out more, and right now it seems like he knows where the Intruder is while the Agents don't.

Also, anyone else get some large $info loots from some of the Accelerated Programs? I got quite a few that were double what I remembered as my highest loot before, and I got around my norm high loot on like 3 other programs.

Hey, we were able to uncover New Zion as well as track down hovercraft's and pull jacks.  I'm sure Veil could track down the Intruder and put an end to him also.  Remember he can control machines, but he can't control humans.  That's why he can't affect Redpills and Bluepills.

You do know I'm Cyph too right? I'm fully aware of my own actions. SMILEY

He may not be able to control Humans but he can effect them with Accelerator and decelerator codes. Veil could have bitten off more than she can chew at the moment, the Intruder is nothing that she has dealt with before, we're not even sure he has a jack seeing as he's a freeborn.

There is too much unknown about him to act on a whim. There is no evidence that suggests that he can control normal 'invisible' system programs and he has only effected programs or pulled them into the simulation for shows of strength or when under threat.

Also, you don't know what would happen if he were forcebly removed from the simulation, he could have the power to bring the whole simulation down, we wouldn't want that to happen now do we? We don't know the internal politics of the Machines. The simulation may be run by the Architect but the fact that he knows where the Intruder is and can have a short exchange of words could mean that his presense here is authorised by the Machines or a independant system of the Machines.

I know diplomacy isn't the Cyph strong point, I know you guys like the whole kill, crush, destroy routine but why not give the Machines a chance and see if we can find out more about him. Any bridges built during the war on Zion would undoubtably be burnt if you hinder our chances of communication with him.

Doesn't really seem like he's interested in talking to the machines dear.  He snapped at The Architect, he hid from the sweep ordered by Gray, he's not very interactive with Machinist Operatives.

Well we're not going to give up because he's been uncooperative. Diplomacy is the art of negotiation, the first challenge is always to get whoever it involves around the 'table'. Not likely to happen with the Cyph 'Gung Ho' attitude though....
#36300384625 01/11/2008 04:24:09 Re:[9.2.1] Mach mission feedback thread: "Slowdown"

I'm just glad the Intruder is giving the Machines and the Cypherites a headache and watch both sides being completely and totally useless. ((I do love the slow motion effects though SMILEY ))

One thing I did pick up on that seemed a bit strange was Grey telling us to pick up two programs from Pace to help us against Accelerated programs which we'll run into whilst looking for the Intruder... They wouldn't have been so handy if the Intruder was about and Accelerated them!
#36300385314 01/12/2008 11:49:08 Re:[9.2.1] Mach mission feedback thread: "Slowdown"

Anyone try to hax the Decelerating Code?  I know its lvl 100 but it can't quite fight back SMILEY

Plus it might drop some kind of 1337 Intruder frag or something for awesome Neoness power!!!

Nope. I personally didn't kill it but according to Mitrios it was the "worst drop ever."

I was thinking the same thing Vinia... I was almost expecting them to turn on me at some point.  Not exactly the most intelligent choice of escort, if I do say so myself.  *chuckles*

I'm not prejudice against programs in the least but when we are given aid to accomplish a task we always seem to be given Agents or Security programs. I know that they are probably the largest resource that the Machines have and could possibly be monitoring our progress too, that's all well and good, however it's been a long time since we've gained help from other Machinist NPC's... I would have though that, especially with the threat of the intruders capability, we'd see more Machinist Redpill escorts...

The frightened bluepill hiding from all the crazy Exiles was a little awkward SMILEY They were all vampires and things for me, and the bluepill talked about them like they were just ordinary people who took some kind of drugs! SMILEY But what was the key on the other bluepill's body for?

And I liked being slowed down too.. it was kind of fun! =P

It was for the locked door the living blue pill was behind, I'm guessing you used pick lock or you would have used the key :p

Ohh, okay :) I kind of rushed through it so I don't remember unlocking a door but I guess I did!
