A fun little fact I never really knew was true is that anesthesia can cause temporary memory loss. I went in for surgery today to have wisdom teeth removed, got knocked out, and recalled waking up a few hours later in my bed.

I just found out that that wasn't the case... Apparently while in a semi-conscious(?) state, after I got home, before going to bed, I logged into MXO and started coding people stuff -- that's what I've been told; I've been shown the gear from one person. I was wondering why I had coder lo/clothes on when I logged in after waking up, but attributed it to a bug or something. I know of one person that I coded clothes and promised an Overdrive to (I'm nice when I'm not conscious?), but I think I'm missing a good hunk of info also. It's no big deal, as the rare items appear to all be here, and I still have most of my info. But, if I did code you something or gave you some info today, I have no recollection of that at all... so if anyone sees this for who this is the case, just let me know ingame or on AIM/Xfire please. It'd help me put the pieces together of just exactly what the hell happened SMILEY" />

When I got my wisdom teeth pulled there is a large gap from me waking up (which I do remember) to the next day.  I also recall watching Blackhawk Down about 4 times but still haven't really seen it...but that was just the pain-killers they gave me for after I'm assuming SMILEY

Certain types of anesthesia  are  hallucinogens, hence the label "laughing gas."

I had my wisdom teeth pulled either this year or last year, but all I remember (if youre on Syntax you may have heard this lol)

As soon as the gas was turned on I started inhaling as much as I could then I started to hit on the nurses. I woke up with a bloody mouth...

Can't say the anesthetic from when I had my teeth pulled had any adverse effect on my memory, then again I watched daytime TV when I got home and no matter what my state of mind is that stuff all tends to meld into a giant blur SMILEY. But the Hollywood depiction of slowly getting drowsy and drifting to sleep is complete BS, it knocks you out flat so fast you don't even have enough time to realise it's taking effect.
If you are reading this my sig didn't work T_T

The wisdom tooth pull I had was with Novocaine only, so no strange effects there.  However, the cocktail of chemicals they pumped in to me during my three ankle surgeries this past year had some effects.  So much so, that before the third surgery I specifically asked (demanded) that they use the absolute minimum dosage required for a safe surgery and leave out any drugs which weren't absolutely required for a safe surgery.  Three anesthesiologists came into the prep room to try to convince me to have the whole "cocktail," saying that the effects of the drugs work together.  When that approach didn't work with me, they tried the "you don't want to remember your surgery; have the amnesiotics."  I'm very glad I didn't let them.  My whole life I've had an incredibly accurate, detailed and far reaching memory and I'm pissed at the clouding effects that the surgeries had on it.  The brain is a delicate, balanced machine in its proper state.  Even a little interference is enough to cause frightening effects.  Don't get me started on the whole anti-depressant/mood stabilizer market for drugs.  A whole generation of kids is being raised with altered brain chemistry and abnormal brain development because parents would rather drug their kids than spend the time to raise them properly.  Eh, I said don't get me started.  Did you know that "The Partnership for a Drug Free America" is owned by alcohol, tobacco and pharmaceutical companies?  Hypocrites and liars, the lot of 'em.

P.S. Bayo, let me know the next time you're going in to the dentist.  I still want all the extracted audio files from MxO!

I make up excuses to have surgery just so I can have the drugs.

Hell, why bother with the surgery?  Just complain of chronic pain.
