With the finite amount of detail in the Hobbit, there will be no excuse for leaving out anything that's in the book. TLOTR trilogy suffered unbearably from critical omissions and fabricated material. The characters where so warped and twisted from the literature so as to be unrecognizable to anyone who retained anything important from their reading. Tolkien and The Lord of the Rings names have been feted by consumerist hype and having been reduced to the lowest common denominator of demographic marketing.
*Passes out T-shirts that say: I knew Tolkien before Peter-what's-his-name ruined it."
Voices in your head: Ignore the man with the T-shirts, instead may I interest you in a "Legolas Lunchbox" and "Gimli's Dwarf Tossing Tabletop Toy"
Voices in your head: Thanks, afterward I'm going to go home to read homo-erotic fan fic on the internet about the Orgy of the Ring.
When something is so popular that every idiot likes it, everyone who ever liked or likes it looks just like any idiot.
Just so I understand this are you saying I'm an idiot for enjoying the movies? Haha...
I loved the books and I loved the movies. Get over yourself. Obviously thats your opinion. I completely disagree with it and if sitting down and enjoying the trilogy makes me an idiot so be it.
