Dueling All The Way: TC Christmas Party Dueling Tourny

On December 23rd, TC is hosting a server Christmas party.  As part of the festivities we will also be hosting a dueling tournament on location at Club Deus.  (outside the club on the roof over the eastern edge of the building)  You will be able to sign up as late as 3 hours before the party starts (meaning 3PM MCT/6PM EST) if any openings still remain.  There are several rules to keep in mind when entering.

1. Any build goes so long as you do not use a healing build or proxies. 

2. No pills or injections.

3. You may bring one buffer.  You will be killed before the fight to clear you out.  At that point you can bring your buffer onto the floor, they will buff you in front of us and then walk off the floor.  No reapplying buffs during a fight.

4. No healing.  No healing from your own build, no healing from outside.  No mobious code.

5. Master Shadow will not be allowed.  Upon further reflection, having it in the tournament will require a panel of judges to decide ties, and I don't want to force people to stay away from the party to judge fights when it's possible they won't be called upon to decide anything at all.  It's just not worth the hassle.

This is a first come first serve tournament.  We will take the first 16 people to sign up.  There will be a reserve list up to 8 people in case we have no shows.  The seeding for the tournament will be announced twenty minutes before it begins.  There will be a 1,000,000 info entry fee which will go entirely into the prize package.  It will be due upon arriving at the club for the party.

Prizes:  We will have a prize pool for the winners of the tournament to select from.  The following items will be available:

Area K Trench Coat (male or female depending on the winner)
Quicksilver Gloves (male or female depending on the winner)
Overdrive Bandanna (male or female depending on the winner)

Distribution will be as follows:

1st place chooses any of the three prizes they want and receives 10,000,000 info.
2nd place chooses one of the two remaining prizes and receives 4,000,000 info.
3rd place receives the remaining prize as well as 2,000,000 info.


The prizes will be handed out upstairs in the club slightly after the tournament, but I will need to trade for the Area K depending on the winner's gender, and the gloves and bandanna will need to be coded on sight depending on the winner.  (This is so I don't have to farm one of each in the next week, heh)

If you don't like the rules of the tournament, don't enter.  If you don't like the prizes, don't enter.  If you do enter, you don't need to hang out on the roof all night, we encourage you to go inside, mingle and have a good time.  We will send you a tell letting you know when your match is coming up.  You can take the elevator at Club Deus to the 3rd floor, then run to the eastern outcropping of roof to get there.

And... why no proxies...? I understand that the patcher sims should be disallowed as per the no healing rule. But what about the other ones?

Just the master shadow ability.  Anything else from that tree is OK.  And nope, no proxies at all.  We talked about it and decided we didn't want to see them in the tournament.

Buffing? Why do you need Buffing?

The buffer idea is poppycock and lame.  What if some of us don't want buffers...  Then it would be an unfair fight.  Also, the location should be near an HL, some of us have specific loadouts Vs. MA, GUN, SPY, or HACK.  Remove the buffers now, it's dumb and no fun.  It wont be a real duel tourney either.  Once you remove that then we are good to go. 


OR, if your going to have buffers, have a buffer panel hired by you.  So the buffs will be fair and equal.

Sounds like some faction isn't used to no buffs :p

Sounds like someone is trying to start a fight. The Collective wanted to make a small christmas event, and all you can do is insult them. Nice job.

I cant say anything about the buffer stuff, but for you loadout just take you best PVP build  for example, load up all hyper defenses for awakened.  This will allow you to be ready for whatever comes your way

You sound so smart and clever. In fact its impossible to detect any sarcasm what so ever.

Due to a poor turnout, we're going to reschedule this tournament for after the new year.  We have an overdrive bandanna, quicksilver gloves and an area k trenchcoat (each in either male or female) to give away, and we're going to make sure someone earns each of them.  So we're going to host a larger tournament a bit later.

We'll post details on the new tournament in the coming week with updated prize information.  Sorry this didn't work out, but it was likely just not enough time to get it organized.  Live and learn and all that.

Now you know why my MA league was postponed until next year :p
