Keep in mind, you need to trade one of each of these snowballs to the Holiday Helpers positioned outside of clubs throught the Mega City. However, the ticket is NOT re-usable IF you complete the mission (we'll get to the loophole for those who've done this before in a bit, however, this is mainly aimed at newbies to the winter event). You need to re-trade again with a Holiday Helper collector.

Holiday Helpers(aka, Sexy **CENSORED**. =P):

Collect your Holiday Mission Ticket from Holiday Helpers. You will notice that there are items(and a fair amount of them at that) which can be retrieved by trading Perfect Snowflakes and the new Ruby Snowflakes.

Chill Simulacrums(Yetis, but I'll stick with it's real name for the moment):

These are the NPC's that spawn between mission zones and drop both the new Ruby Snowflake which you can trade for the two of the new items and last years Perfect Snowflake which you can trade in for some of this years new items, along with last years. You will be looking to trade these in for items from the Holiday Helpers. Having thrown resistance will lower the damage they deal considerably. They're not particularly difficult to kill, just don't use interlock builds. So, Sniper or MKT would be the obvious choices.

Holiday Mission Ticket:

Start the holiday mission and run to the zone, you will need 4 inventory slots free. Thanks to Exsuscito for braving it and working out that the mission WON'T fail if you have a full inventory, the present will drop on the ground allowing you to sort your invent then pick up any dropped items.

Anyways, move on from zone one DON'T HYPERJUMP, just run to the next mission zone. On the way you will encounter either one Chill Simulacrum or a pack of them(2 or 3). If you find a single Chill Simulacrum that has 3 chevrons, you have a good chance of it dropping a Ruby Snowflake the snowflake still has a chance of dropping on lower chevron npcs, but they're not as likely to drop. Perfect Snowflakes have a *very* good chance of dropping at least once on your Chill Simulacrums bodies(the higher the chevrons, the better) I say this as Tseng curses on ventrilo because of his apparent lack of a snowflake after killing six chill simulacrums. However, that is a rare occurance. After killing the first round of Chill Simulacrums, head onwards to drop off the first two presents. From here, run to the next zone again without hyperjumping and you'll find another spawn of Chill Corrupters. Head on to finish the mission off and recieve two perfect snowflakes, so one way or another you will recieve two perfect snowflakes.

The Loophole:

For those of you who have plenty of info, and don't really need masses of Snowflakes you might just want to call the mission get to the first spawn of NPCs, kill them, then restart the mission.

If you don't, I believe you're liable to having the mission fail because you collect all four presents seperately and if the four slots aren't there, it will fail the mission. I remember this happend last year, and I'm not about to tempt fate and do it again this year =P.

It's fixed this year, the present will just drop to the floor in the event of a full inventory.

Yes they are, which makes me wonder whether you can use the snowballs they generate to buy those items off the Holiday Helpers because if you can it's a bit of a cheat.

Just kill the person with the luggable. They should be always flagged if they have the luggable.

Yup you can, not only that, the luggable snowmen produce one of every kind, get one and let it sit in ur inventory for a while and you can get everything right away.

There's a powdery snowman in Tabor also. Go North-West from Tabor West right to the corner of the waters edge. I'd post coords and pictures but I'm at work so can't jack in!

Anyone have an idea of the drop rate for the ruby flakes and the ratio of perfect snowflakes to ruby snowflakes? For eample you might get 1 ruby for every x number of perfect flakes you've collected.

I don't know if there's a ratio as such, but looking at the Snowflakes I stored from last year, after trading for the winter sets, I had 60 Perfect Snowflakes by 4 Ruby Snowflakes, meaning a rough ratio of 15 to 1. That's more or less an average of 5 missions to get a Ruby Snowflake.

While this would make sense, I was pretty sure I tried this and didn't seen any results as far as lessened damage.  Can anyone confirm this?

#36300530958 12/20/2008 09:16:21 Re:Winter Holiday Guide!

After some farming with the winter stuff (first time since i've always managed to miss it for whatever reason ): I decided to chekc out the drop rates... since it became apparent that i was getting a distinct lack of Ruby Snowflakes.

I tried several methods different locations and i found a suitable farming method to collect as many snowflakes both perfect and ruby as possible.

Its worth mentioning that instead of trading snowflakes as you attain them for some reason once you receive the first ruby the rest come more frequently.. the initial one always takes the longest to get from what i have experienced. So save them all untill you have the required amount.

(5 of each snowball, 90 perfect snowflakes and 4 ruby for every years male winter items, i still haven't written down female yet)

Farmed 40 snowflakes today, got 4 rubies with them. Ratio 1:10?

Got twenty snowflakes earlier, and picked up 2 ruby flakes in the same time span.  Far from a huge sample, but maybe that ratio isn't too far off.
