After listening to the SOE podcast and how Everquest and Everquest 2 get a 6 month development cycle, I was thinking if maybe MxO would benefit from from a 6 Month cycle rather than a 6 week cycle.

The reason that I suggest this is that as well all know Chapter 9 won't last forever and as far as I know Chapter 10 has not been designed and the cinematics have not been created. So after Chapter 9 finishes I'm suggesting that a longer development cycle would be a better idea.

For One this would allow the development of much larger content and longer quest style content etc, this would also allow MxO to get the "expansion" that it deserves. Now I know that many players will be against this but so what I'm suggesting is that Cinematics and the relevant critical missions come out as usual (Every 6 weeks) and the Annual events still happen (Halloween, Winter and the Anniversary) but when they are released thats all that comes out in the patch, and the Changes and Improvments along with Bug fixes come out after the 6 Month development period.

In Summary:
  • After Chapter 9 has finished the development cycle should change to 6 Months, instead of 6 weeks
  • However Cinematics and relevant critical missions come as out every 6 weeks (exactely as they do now)
  • Along with Cinematics and Critical missions, Events would still come out as they do now (so Halloween, Winter and The Anniversary would still be out on time)
  • But all the Changes and Improvement and Bugs fixes to the game would come out after the 6 Month development cycle has finished.
  • This would allow for much larger content to be developed and put into the live game and would potentially allow for all bugs to be fixed (Remember I said potentially)
