Just thought I should drop a note to mention that the SOE offices are closed this Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday, which means that we won't have official Live Events on those days. I also don't have anyone in the office today who can upload images for me (:p), so there won't be an Image Retrieval this week (wasn't planning one anyway, conveniently--gotta save up for two particular ones just before the Winter Holiday update...), and I won't be able to put up a Live Event thread today for yesterday's event.

But that doesn't mean I can't sneak in a preview, I guess...

I have a sneaking suspicion that Rarebit either has a way to automatically take screenshots every second, or he has some Dev tool to recreate an entire event and take screenshots at his leisure. 'Cos these shots are just too good to be taken by chance. SMILEY

F12, n00b! :p

F11 for me, as it happens. SMILEY I still wonder how you manage to get such good shots, though. You must sit there hitting F12 more rapidly than is humanly possible.

If this is about the Thanksgiving holidays then shouldn't this be in the News and Announcements section?  n00b!  SMILEY  ^_^

I would've pegged Rarebit for a Fraps user if I hadn't seen all of the "screeny_00" in system chat with his other LE posts.

Nah, just about as rapidly. Also, I've mentioned this before, but I have a few useropts settings that help me get the camera around quickly:

CameraChaseDuration = 0.1
ILCameraMode = 2
CameraMinDist = 100
CameraMaxDist = 2800
CameraMaxSpeed = 1000
CameraUserKeyDistSpeedScale = 5000
CameraUserKeyPitchSpeedScale = 250
CameraUserKeyYawSpeedScale = 400

Those will seem very twitchy at first, but with practice they're very helpful for moving the camera around to different angles while things are happening, using CTRL+WASDZX. The default camera keyboard movement speed is maddeningly slow...I'm really not sure why it's set as low as it is, but I'm hesitant to change it for all users (the default, I mean) now.

Whatever the deal, I demand favouritism, so PM me a picture of one of the clothing items that you say yourself are unlike anything MxO has had before. Don't worry about the favouritism, I'll then spread it equally over the forums SMILEY

That's not *exactly* what I said...
#36300356848 11/21/2007 13:33:33 Re:Turkey Time

Right... wasn't it something players have never had before? As in, something the npcs might have but we don't.

#36300356849 11/21/2007 13:38:29 Re:Turkey Time
Thanks Rare! I've already got my MaxDist set at something crazy, but I've recently been annoyed at how slow the camera panning is. I shall see to those setting right away!
#36300356889 11/21/2007 14:43:59 Re:Turkey Time
It's amazing Rarebit can get any dialogue out or abilities queued while he spams the screenshot button! I must admit though... you always seem to get very beautiful shots... SMILEY" />

It isn't an image retrieval, it's just as was said yesterday's event which was going to be posted today.
#36300356955 11/21/2007 17:29:56 Re:Turkey Time
Yeah, it was just an action shot from us Mervs tackling a large mob of level 51-60 Sparks while Cerulean watched.

To prove it, I will now divulge information that I figured would have been given in the LE post, but since that's not happening...

The Intruder seems to be attracted to the Heart O' The City Hotel. Dun dun duuun? =p

Also, Flood gives weird advice. Or was that me?

#36300356994 11/21/2007 19:27:33 Re:Turkey Time
I LOVE not being around for this stuff! What with that and the compatibility issues with Vista this game is SO worth paying more than the US players pay! ¬_¬
Seriously, I have loved this game from day 1 but for God's sake could us EU players see some flippin' action please? It's not like we gotta wait for everyone in the SOE office to get home from work before anything can start up!

And it really riles me that I have to catch up on the story through LE posts ALL the time. However, thanks for the heads up and the piccies I guess.

EDIT: didn't think that word would be censored, but didn't wanna look like a foul mouth so changed the word.
#36300357036 11/21/2007 21:01:18 Re:Turkey Time
Honestly I thought it was the guns the one on the right was holding that was different. Guess the angle made it look bigger.
#36300357052 11/21/2007 21:58:15 Re:Turkey Time
I really like the last shot in that string. It looks like the firing of the gun caused the pigeons to disperse.
Time to change my sig... SMILEY
