arnt npc bodys locked to who does the most damage?

As I have it, it's yours for the first 2 minutes. After that, anyone can get it. And 4 minutes after the NPC has been killed, they vanish (at least most do).

Just roll and shield up every few spawns and the ninja looter will haunt you no more

In the current darkness, sometimes you can't see that far.
And /who only helps so much. If anyone but you shows up, they could be anywhere between, say, just within shotgun range to 2 neighborhoods away.
