You couldn't see a whole lot from that movie, if memory serves.  My theory is that they made everything pitch black in an effort to hide the fact that they shot the whole thing for 200 dollars and a bus pass.  I'd kill for another one truer to the original.  It didn't even have Johnny Rico.
