A friend downloaded the new beta Station Launcher last night and used it to sign up for the new free trial program.  After downloading and patching the game, he gets to the first character generation screen and can't select anything because he has no mouse cursor.  He's using a Gateway wireless mouse.  For the short term, he's going to shut down and plug in a normal PS2 mouse and reboot.  Has anyone else had trouble using a wireless mouse with MxO?  I used the Search function to make sure this wasn't a known issue, but nothing relevant came up.   Update: even with a normal mouse, he has no mouse cursor at all in character generation and a stuck cursor in-game.  He stumbled thru RSI generation by visualizing where the cursor should be, but now he's in the city and can see the mouse cursor in the middle of the screen but it never moves.  Any ideas?

Got any hardware specs?  Is it a laptop?  I know he hasn't gotten this far in the game yet, but once he does...does it happen in windowed mode too?

Think Paige6 has hit the nail on the head. Most likely a graphics card which doesn't fully support directX or using out of date drivers/version of directX.

Try running windowed mode like Paige6 said and the mouse will almost certainly appear. SMILEY

Unfortunately he doesn't have a lot of computer knowledge or skills.  He got in to game and can see the mouse cursor now, but it doesn't move at all, even with the normal wired mouse.  It's a gateway integrated wireless mouse, so he can't even unplug the base station from USB like I would recommend to avoid conflict with a normal mouse.  He's actually made it to mission #4 without using the mouse at all, but I can't imagine...

They need to open the useropts.cfg file in their MxO install directory (or make the file if it doesn't exist)
Then at the end of the file add the following line:

windowed = 1

Thanks, running it in a Window gives him mouse function.  Pity there isn't a full screen solution.
